2015-2016 Roster Talk: Kings Have no Elite Players Edition

I think that the roster is pretty much set for this season heading into the playoffs. It looks like to me Dean and his staff scouted and did their homework on Lecavalier and Schenn. These two are in effect our deadline acquisitions for this season.

I don't think Dean would consider moving Brown until the off season.

No way, Kings need his cheap salary and tenacity, he brings a LW element that we don't have with his speed. Unless it's Pearson + for Maatta :nod:

Kings and Pens are just bad trading partners though imo.

Brown retires, AEG employs him ;)

I think they got them early for exactly what they said they did, to make them part of the fabric of the team and see what tinkering is left. I'd be surprised if we didn't pick up another d-man.

The roster is set for this season with Brown barring a major injury to the main roster forcing a trade. But at the draft or during the offseason? All bets are off and that's where I think he'll get traded if he does. Specifically the draft to open up space for Lucic and maybe Schenn to be fit into the mix.

2012: New Jersey Devils -- Kings clinch at home
2014: New York Rangers -- Kings clinch at home

Which leaves...

2016: New York Islanders -- Kings clinch at home
2018: Buffalo Sabres -- Kings clinch at home

So really it won't be the salary cap that prevents the Kings from winning another Stanley Cup, but the inability of the Islanders and Sabres to get their team prepared to set the proper stage. :)
 
Different sport but the Mets are paying Bobby Bonilla something like $1.5 million a season until 2035. And he retired in 2001. :help:

Woah, Bonilla was due $5.9 million in his last season as a Met. What's Brown's AAV? 5.875. 2 spooky 4 me.

What a ****ing joke that main board is.

There is so much hatred for Quick that it is oozing out of the built-in speakers of my computer. Talking to those ****-tards is like trying to move a large, heavy piece of furniture by yourself: you know it's stupid, yet you still try, and you end up ****ing something up along the way (furniture, carpet, walls, etc.). Gotta wonder who is more stupid...the ****-tard or yourself.

You bring up some good points.

I love it when Ranger fans say that their team sucked so badly in order to bolster up Lundy. As though anyone would believe a crappy team can make it to the Stanley Cup Final just because Lundy. Incredible.

I find some sens fans a bit painful. I have a morbid curiosity with the "Karlsson discussion" thread unfortunately. I know its gonna piss me off but I cant help clicking on it. Its like a sens fan circle jerk. Someone should start a pisstake "Ehrhoff discussion" thread, that we could all dribble into.
