2015-2016 Roster Talk: Kings Have no Elite Players Edition

The Kings need cost controlled players. Pearson's value for a cap team is huge. With Gaborik out, the only other speed with skill the kings have is Carter. And he's been playing injured.

I don't see the Kings trading Pearson at all for a rental. Trading Pearson only makes the kings older, slower, and not cost controlled. Pearson is not going anywhere.

my thinking pretty much to the T. unless Deaner can swing a legendary deal for a dman thats locked up for a while, Pears isnt leaving LA...I just dont see it happening

we should be finding a way to get jeff skinner. Had 30g season has 21 this season, is 23yo and would fit perfect with kopi or carter. Carolina seems to be willing to trade him, browns cap kills us but if we could send something like pearson/forbort and something for skinner and some cap retention we should do it.

I doubt Carolina moves him now...maybe before this year when it looked like he would be an IR lifer and that his rookie year was a fluke.

Also how do we fit in his cap next year and re-sign lucic? Or is this trying to get skinner to replace lucic?

The Detroit Model in 2016 is defined in one word - average. They are currently 13 in the league. Nearly center. Look at their recent playoff success - Lost Conference Semifinals, Lost Conference Semifinals, Lost Conference Quarterfinals, Lost Conference Semifinals, Lost First Round, Lost First Round. I'm so tired of hearing about the Red Wings and their playoff streak. Who the hell cares? I want to be calling last or first at the draft. Wings are currently the Canucks, Sharks, and Blues of the NHL. They haven't done dick. Nothing matters outside of icing a championship team and creating a championship atmosphere. If you can't do that, make the necessary changes. I'd ride Kopitar, Carter, Toffoli, Doughty, Muzzin, and Quick into the ground and trade every prospect and pick necessary to help them win a Stanley Cup. I don't give a **** about the pipeline five years from now. I'd rather have 5 incredible years than 15 average ones.

And to the people that complain Dean trades too many picks, don't complain, it'll just expedite the process 5 years from now.

This is so f-ing true. They've been riding the pre cap era coattails since their last cup, and every year we hear how great their scouting and drafting is. Before the drafting of a potential superstar in Larkin, who has stood out like Zetterberg or Datzyuk that they've drafted... anyone? I look at the Wings as one of the blackhole playoff teams, good enough to get in, but not quite good enough to get out.

The kopitar shuffle. How ****ed would this organization be without him, with say another teubert instead. Wasn't he like an 11th overall pick. Not too many players of kopis calibre dropping out of the top 5. We've got to start looking for the Chinese mcdavid.

Bourdon was looking like a defensive stud...feel for him and his family.

I think looking at the 2005 draft it is more appropriate to point out Brule (EDM), Skille (CHI)....actually basically anybody taken before Kopitar not named Crosby (maybe Price).
