Watching shefield steelers-JYP and the steelers are completely dominating the first period....the hell?

LOL :D

Having watched Pardubice - Farjestad - it completely showed the difference between czech and swedish hockey. You can keep the score eqaul but you know who's having all tools.

The only reason of small attendences here in central Europe must be that people dont want to see the truth. This team was completely on different level than ordinary czech team....:(

Attendance in Germany is way up. Also the German teams play way better than last year. I think the CHL still needs some time to establish itself beyond 'preparation games' for the upcoming season. But right now I'm confident they are on a good path. Don't forget it's just the 2nd year.

Assuming Sparta Praha advances, what are the chances that they'll get to play ZSC? I have no idea what the format is, would love to see Matthews play though.

There is unfortunately so far no certainty that Sparta will advance as we lost to Hamar and the performance was definetely not promising... There is so far no info about play-off IMO....

Btw. jerseys are super cool IMO. I dont really care about top scorer anymore because the rest is perfect. Most of the czech jerseys looks better than league ones, maybe except Sparta's. And not only because of no advertisment.... Numbers on shoulders is brilliant idea as well.

Little bit out of standard is JYP that reminds me Ottawa Senators.

Sheffield design is smth how I imagine Dutch national team :)

Krefeld with two shorthanders in 20 seconds

Edit: Actually make that 80 secs. Apparently I can't read a scoresheet.

amazing

I've never seen a game where an opponent get so many PP.

In 5 vs 5 Ingolstadt doesn't stand a chance. Of course let them play the whole game with a guy more and they'll have a chance to win

yuck

Yup, that reffing... I guess they decided that playing hockey is against the rules now.

There might be actually. I don't see how we could beat Prague the way we played tonight.. I know Sparta isn't a top team in Europe but Hamar is much worse coming from a weak championship so ya, Geneva might not make it to the 1/16 finals.. :shakehead

Storhamar 5-1 Geneva lol

congrats to storhamar ending 1st in their group, I did not see that coming :handclap:

Stavanger Oilers also through....amazing Norweigan results

"@vaxjolakers, what have you done? Allow an ENG to give @ERCIngolstadt the #CHL tiebreaker over you if they beat @BraeheadClan on Saturday!"

can anyone clarify?

don't they have to beat Braehead clan with 8-0 to end 1st?

Really impressed by the Norwegian teams, Storhamar secured their first place in the group and Stavanger will also win their group in case KalPa doesn't beat Trinec on regulation.

Yeah that doesn't make sense. The way I see it, Växjö would only lose first place if Ingolstadt beat Braehead by eight goals, or seven if they score more than nine.

:handclap: Huge props to them. Excited about the playoffs.

The 5th tie-breaker is highest amount of goals scored in a game between the two tied teams. Because Vaxjo pulled their goalie, Ingolstadt got a 5th goal, Vaxjo scored 4 goals when they won and thus Ingolstadt will win on this tie-breaker.....pure madness from Vaxjo

so...they need to win by atleast 8-1 to end 1st?

No, Ingolstadt win the tie-breaker with Vaxjo if they both end up on 9 points.

Tie-Breaker number 5 is 'highest number of goals in one game' just between the 2 sides. The results were Vaxjo 4-2 Ingolstadt and Ingolstadt 5-3 Vaxjo. Therefore Ingolstadt win as they managed to score 5 goals in a game whereas Vaxjo only managed to score 4

No, I think you got it wrong

tie breaker rules

2. superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams in question;

3. higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the teams in question

these come first and foremost. The fifth rule is only if we have the same points, same goal difference, same amount of goals scored

so they need to win the last game with 8-1 to make the 5th rule valid

or am I reading this wrong? Obviously växjö themselves thought it worked this way.
