Bump everyone up! Slot Mistele in!

*Fixed*

Actually, wait, make Kitsyn No. 1. Sorry. Better.

Kitsyn! From off the charts to #1 !

Good to see Mistele make #20. There's still Jake Marchment and Damir Sharipzyanov.
Marchment is having a good year...looks like Damir is putting up about the smae numbers per game at least...and is 2nd in plus minus on Owen Sound. Any word on anyone seeing him play?

I'm still not sold Mistele even gets a contract by June 1st. He might just go back in the draft. Very rarely do players make it after going back for their overage year. He's been better since that early season trade though.

I agree on Mistele, although the King's don't exactly have a plethora of offensive forward prospects, so that may translate in his favor.

I'm also curious to hear how Damir Sharipzyanov has been playing this season. +11 on a team full of -players hope is a positive sign.

Disappointed in Schmalz's season by the numbers. A -49 is not good, even if he's on a crappy team. Though it is better than his - of a year ago. His offense numbers are also down from a season ago.

Hard to think those are worthy of an ELC, could be wrong since Schmalz isn't small, 6'6' 209+

Interesting how Prokhorkin's excellent season this year in the KHL translates into the best potential numbers as an NHL player. I hope neither side is too proud to continue talking. We need offensive skill in the pipeline.

OK. I have a YUGE complaint...... those are NOT Kitsyn's numbers!!! LoL, I don't know where those numbers came from, but they're definitely not Kitsyn's numbers for this year!!!:shakehead

That JFTC was ani nteresting read. ALso like the link to Pierre talking up Amadio especially from the standpoint that Amadio's coach is a Sutter style coach with systems (that's very visible) so he's used to playing in a pro-style structure.

Just also makes me feel worse for Dergachyov, get him out of there ASAP please.

I want to root for Spencer Watson but other than his instincts he doesn't strike me as significantly better than Weal, Kozun, Azevedo.

I saw a bit of eye chart the other night during the North Bay game, he looked very solid, slick and moving the puck, but otherwise just 'fit in' and that's a compliment, he wasn't doing anything flashy

This happened in today's 5-1 pasting of the Rampage:

Stothers didn't pull any punches himself after the game:

ORI: Looked like MacDermid came back to the bench late, but did not play. How is he doing?
Stothers: Dermy took a hell of a shot to the face on a sucker punch from Maggio. No excuse, or explanation can ever justify what he did. That’s the type of crap that injures people and has no business in our game. He fights McGrattan toe to toe and knocks him out cold with a well placed punch to the jaw. What the hell does he think is going to happen when he sucker punches Dermy? He could have seriously injured Kurtis or ended his career. I have no time, and zero patience, for an act of such cowardice. The more I watch it the more sickened I become. That’s not a sign of toughness it’s an act of stupidity. There is no room for that crap in our game or anywhere else for that mater. First name gutless, last name stupid.

what is the opinion on Dowd and if you had to draw a comparison if he pans out in the NHL, who would he resemble?

HE's likely ready for an NHL gig as a bottom liner but he does exhibit some creativity and skill as well. Good hands. Maybe a little like Dominic Moore? but bigger.

I think Dowd will be better suited for this team than Shore. Dowd will bring some grit toughness and skill to the bottom 6 next year.

I believe we will see a big shake up this off season. King, Lewis, Brown, Clifford are just some of the names I can see not being here anymore.

Pardon me for not having sympathy for MacDermid -- his own unprovoked cheapshot on Bailey left him bleeding on the ice with facial fractures back in December.

There's a difference between throwing a hit (which you can argue was head on and a hit that can be seen by the guy taking the hit) and being punched to the back of the head.

But we'll just let your blind homerism for a team in San Diego pass ill informed judgement on MacDermid.

I'm not in any way endorsing the previous play but you have to be able to see a difference between a course-of-play check and a premeditated Bertuzzi suckerpunch from behind.

Dowd is not gritty at all. He is a skilled, cognitive, heads up center. He actually plays kind of small, and does not look to engage in contact. Which is fine considering he is a center, and tends to let his wingers battle pucks out (Which is why Mersch has been so good with him). If you wanted grit and toughness you'd probably want Andrew Crescenzi up here. He has really opened my eyes this year.

Dowd is smart before gritty, and very responsible defensively and in transition. He is not all that dissimilar to Shore to be honest. Shore is a bit bigger, probably a little less skilled.

I'd say a reasonable comparison....meh would probably be along the lines of a Jay McClement? Or like Sheng said, a less skilled Matt Stajan, or yea Dominic Moore.. McClement was actually kind of rough possession wise.
