I'm very high on Ebert. He has Doughty like moves with the puck (though he's not nearly as effective defensively).
Most weekend Reign quotes are out there, but here's some (I think) exclusive stuff, including some excellent insight about Budaj's impact on Ontario from Stothers:
Reign Weekend Postgame Quotes: Stothers, Dowd, Auger
So, a right handed Jack Johnson?
I wouldn't say that at all. Jack Johnson is deceptive with head fakes. And while he's not very good at reading the play, he is formidable one-on-one due to being a very strong guy.
Ebert is very deceptive with his body language, and can make spin-o-rama moves without warning. He also doesn't rely on strength to contain players. He depends more on positioning.
I am disappointed in Alex Lintuniemi, he has struggled to adjust to the ECHL.
Hope he picks it up, later in the season.

Wasn't he injured?
Different position too but FWIW I saw a lot of Dwight King with the Reign and he didn't look like an NHLer then either, looked lost most of the time...there's something to be said for such a 'sloppy' level of play
He is, Some sort of Arm Injury, but prior to that, he was struggling with Just ECHL play.
That was disappointing to see.
The kid has been hurt for the past 4 weeks. His game picked up in the 2 games prior to him getting hurt. He's a young guy, whom the coaching staff really likes. I'd wait to see his 1st season being a pro play out before poo-pooing him.
Thing is he's a 21 year old. Most 20 year olds that are real NHL prospects (exception being goalies who are all different) are a middle of the road AHLers at this point AT VERY LEAST. Even guys like Teubert, Kozun, Weal contributed significantly at AHL level at 20, nevermind 21. He is so far behind the curve I just don't see where he will be able to turn it around and become a legitimate NHL prospect.
Last time I was that wrong about a prospect it was Ben Chiarot, who topped out as a decent #7/8 defenseman. I just don't see him becoming a real NHL prospect based on his development thus far.

Reign host the Gulls tonight -- Gulls are playing in front of a new (to them) goaltender, as Khudobin cleared waivers and was assigned to San Diego. The Gulls are still vulnerable to the odd-man rush, as the forwards aren't consistently good about making it back or knowing how to assist the defense - both Barracuda goals were scored by the trailer or third man on a rush last night. I'm never sure which Gulls team is going to show up. I won't be making tonight's game either - I'll be looking for reactions on how Theodore looks, as I've only seen him in person once in three weeks, and prior to that he was having a rough go of it.
Stothers, on if this was Lowry’s best game and moving players in the lineup:
He was good, but I thought he was real good last Sunday. I thought he was real good. I’ve liked him. Again, it’s another one of those situations that just because a guy doesn’t play it’s not because I’m dissatisfied or unhappy. Unless you’re Horvat. He learned. But then everybody else took penalties. So now I’ve got to sit out everybody for San Diego so we’re holding open auditions for anybody that wants to play.
