Milano with another goal and two assists tonight...kid is simply on fire.

years back I always felt he was more flash then substance, but he has certainly proven me wrong. he is simply dominating out there and it is really great to see this many US kids firing on all cylinders heading into camp : Milano, Eichel, Bracco, Matthews, Werenski, Hanifin, Erne, etc, etc,

Yeah but why Miles wood? In no way is he better than Bailey.

usually when USA Hockey adds an off the wall type name, they usually make the team. I am not saying that will happen here, but history has shown when they put a Luke Walker, Brian Lashoff, Jimmy Vesey, etc out there, just know that they have a role in mind for that kid. and from everything I have heard about Randy Wood's kid, he has a ton of talent and is only starting to scratch the surface..

Larkin, as well. He's no Jack Eichel, but he's over a point per game on a mediocre Michigan team. Centers their first line as a freshman—and his wingers combined for 23 points last year, so it's probably safe to say he stirs that drink.

UM is really solid this year.

Larkin centers their second line.

The line he is centering is their most productive.

UM is really uneven this year. They were pretty bad for the first 7-8 games, and now they're on a wildly unsustainable tear (averaging something crazy like 6 goals for per game over the last 5). The defensive side of their game is still pretty weak, too. I'm not sure Nagelvoort is going to get the job done. I'm not sure they can keep up this offense pace, and I'm also not sure they can keep the puck out of their own net well enough to make up for it. The defense isn't strong enough yet.

and the line thing is questionable. They put Copp's line at the top of their lineup sheets, but Larkin's line is the one that gets the minutes, especially on the PP. Not sure why, but they primarily play Copp with grinder/energy types or inexperienced players. See: Motte and Calderone.

i agree with alot of what you said, especially the goaltending and on D. but the amount of talent they have up front for u of m and i dont disagree that its hard to sustain 6goals a game, but they are very good. and the guys invited for this usa team, with larkin motte comphere as well as they are playing going into this tourny has got to be great for usa. especially since the roles they will most likely have as defensive guys who control play in the other zone and chip in offensively.(no doubt they will) but with those guys and warenski playing as well as hes been can only really help this wjc roster, even though very young.

Definitely the team to beat. Crash the net and get in Demkos face and I think we'll be fine.

Anthony Louis and Connor Chatham have to be in contention for this team as well.

Anthony Louis is practically a patrick kane prototype if u watch him play.(obviously a lite version haha)

Also take a look at Kyle Hayton in net from st. Lawrence, kid is a stud.

a lot of people keep saying that Michigan is a bad team this year, but the reality is there could be 4 Wolverines on this US team...and honestly I think all 4 are near locks IMO.

I never knew they had that much size. I thought McCarron was their only big man. Canada could be in trouble.

Michigan had a rrrrreally bad start. Something like 2-5 in their first 7, with 4 goals against per game. (Approximating from memory). They've lit the world on fire in the 7 games since then, though.

This is probably old news but how come Bailey didn't get an invite?

Surprised Belpedio didn't get an invite. He's been inconsistent with Miami this year, times where he looks lost in his own zone...but i figured a kid with that kind of potential and puck moving ability with his smarts would be a lock. If not this year, then i guess for next year.

Heard Louis skill was off the charts. Never seen him play though.

Yeah but you could argue the same about Bailey. Oh well, hope if he makes it he does well. I just feel they favor their domestic leagues too much and overlook talent playing in CHL wayyyyy too much.

Michigan is decent; nothing special. I think they'll finish second behind Minnesota and barely sneak into the tournament.

I normally agree, but look at this camp roster and how much CHL kids are there. Anthony DeAngelo is there for the love of God!! Many thought he would get screwed again. Two out of three goalies are CHL kids, and Cole Cassels comes along for the ride where some people said he wouldnt even represent the US...so yeah I am bummed that Bailey isn't here, but this roster for the first time in a while I have zero gripes with.

Would love to see Wood in their as a Devs fan, kid could be good, but he stayed in HS rather than go to BC which scares me, because he might try to be going for free agency
