Would he risk getting hurt ?

Trouba got hurt in last years game but he was, of course, already drafted.

Unless he has some sort of career ending injury, he will still be drafted. He's not some borderline prospect. And even if he is drafted it doesn't mean that he's automatically getting paid. If he goes back to college next year he might risk getting hurt and never seeing the money.

Hanifin played very well at the WJC, but he is not ready to play minutes here at the WC. We have plenty of defense options to go to before him. Eichel is at a different level and his position is a bit more sheltered than a dman. Would I be upset if Hanifin was picked to come along for the ride? nope, would I have some concerns if we need him to play in the top 4...yup.

Totally agreed, I was just saying that if for whatever reason he was invited, I don't think he would ever say no out of fear of injury.

oh I know man, we try to make positives out of everything! at least no Mike Brown anymore...

Arcobello has skill and should do well here, just not the name we want to be hearing added to this team...

and like me and usahockey22flyers talked about, never before have I been so excited talking about third and fourth liners accepting top roles playing for team USA and trying to put positive spins on it! hahaha...

looks like Canada has a lot of declines so far as well... so as usual the North American players must have a club at R.J Umberger's house where they get together during this tournament and stay up late telling scary stories to one another camped out in a living room or some ****...has to be the reason :sarcasm:

Don't jinx it.

Ben Smith added to the roster. Gonna take that as a bad sign we're getting Pavelski, Wingels or even Nieto since they play for the same team and weren't announced with him

"No Mike Brown anymore" Classic.

I have no problem going younger, but boy... We could use some scoring!!!

I like our D-Core a lot tbh.

Another embarrassing American team at the WC. Wow.

Why can't the USA hockey respect the hockey world and assemble an actually strong team ?

Though I am Canadian, I really do hope that USA wins this tournament. First, it would just be hilarious with the rosters USA typically sends. Second, the fans who have to put up with seemingly 90% of the players saying no would finally derive some enjoyment. Third, to hopefully shame the masses who refuse to go.

I hope that embarrassing team will beat Russia 8-3 again.

It's bad, but it's always bad, so no real surprises. Last year Tyler Johnson and Justin Abdelkader joined after the first round, so hopefully for the team's sake someone decent decides to come after getting knocked out in the first round. Eichel will have to be this year's version of Gaudreau who led the team's forwards in scoring last year.

All they can do is send out the invites. It's up to the players to accept them.

They don't have the overall depth to compensate for the lack of interest players have like Canada does.
