Congratulations to Jake Gardiner who has confirmed he'll play for Team USA at the worlds. #TMLtalk

Oh and Gardiner said he will play for USA at the Worlds.

Gardiner was really bad last year. Seemed like he was forcing things which led to some ugly mistakes. Hopefully he is more stable this year, they're gonna need it. Glad another legitimate NHL defenseman is playing regardless though.

he has improved with the leafs this season and i would love for usa and team canada to make the finals and hopefully his leafs roomate and best friend Rielly is medically cleared to play for team canada

You're okay with Hendricks but not Morin?

Canadian Oiler fan coming in peace.
Hendricks is your ideal 4th liner and brings a ton of leadership. Great addition for a young team. It's not olympics its the WHC anyways

doesnt hendricks get the worst zone starts of anyone in the NHL in terms of them being almost always in the defensive zone? if anything it would allow the usa to shelter eichel and larkin in the tourney.

I haven't watched him much this year, Edmonton wasn't really must see TV for me. But I don't remember him able to skate or really have the skill necessary to play a big ice game when he was with Washington.

Gardiner is a huge add. I'm a big fan of his and dont get the hate he gets.

There were times when he got walked on, in his own end, during last years Worlds. He made some bad decesions in losses, not to pin the losses on Gardiner, which made his puck giggles more visible.

I like his mobility on the bigger surfaces and he did eventually work out the kinks after the Belarus loss. He is defenitely a good add.

well he had a rough WC last year like others stated, and started off pretty rocky this year for the Maple Leafs...BUT...he really turned it around since December and though this isn't saying much, he was in the top 2 defenders for Toronto the rest of the year..he looked real good every time I watched him and though he still makes some bone head plays, he looks much more improved since last year and early this season.

yet these players are confirmed Faulk, Gardiner, Moore, Murphy, Reilly defenders, attackers then Morin, Hendricks, Eichel, Larkin, Vesey, Moses, Arcobello. Van Riemsdyk is considering whether it will play. While linemate James van Riemsdyk is considering the offer. When asked Monday if he'd played hurt this year, which might have contributed to his sub-par season, van Riemsdyk responded "I don't want to get into that." Here http://www.torontosun.com/2015/04/13/maple-leafs-dion-phaneuf-does-not-want-to-relinquish-captaincy. Interest is also Lewis and Martinez from LA, Atkinson from Colombus, Krug from Boston, Hayes from Florida, Wingel and Nieto from San Jose Sharks....

At least they are adding skill and speed. I'd rather see that then a bunch of NHL plugs.

this team is going to suck!

hahahaha..

Rabid, we say the same thing every year, but actually some of these guys like Arcobello, Hendricks, and Morin are plugs barely holding an NHL job...Arcobello was released like 7 times this year..

I know. Just trying to be positive...haha. Arcobello is a skilled player who almost hit 20 goals this year. We could do worse......haha. Hendricks is a fourth liner that brings some leadership. Morin is.....well, I don't know.

If we can add all of those players plus a Schneider in goal it would be a decent squad.

good defense and goaltending will go a long way to making this team a possible contender...just so frustrating seeing the lack of forwards we always have. hopefully in the next few years when the Eichel, Larkin, Matthews, Max Jones, Pastujov's, Connor, Bittner, Bellows, Yamamoto, Bracco, White, etc, etc all start making it we wont have to worry about this as our depth will just get better and better at the top end.

I am 100% positive Cory is playing....so we know we will have a star goaltender...

I like Faulk and Gardiner so far in our top 4...still can add Krug and Greene like you said which would make a very solid top 4.

Atkinson, Pavelski, JVR, Nieto, J. Hayes, Wingels, Trocheck, Gomez, Gionta, etc are all still out there..but we keep filling up on these other guys which as usual worries me that we just will not be getting many top guys.

Just give us Pavelski and Atkinson....wait until Calgary gets bumped and get Gaudreau and I will be happy at this point...

looks like Eichel could be our top center....what a showcase for him!

oh I know man, we try to make positives out of everything! at least no Mike Brown anymore...

Arcobello has skill and should do well here, just not the name we want to be hearing added to this team...

and like me and usahockey22flyers talked about, never before have I been so excited talking about third and fourth liners accepting top roles playing for team USA and trying to put positive spins on it! hahaha...

looks like Canada has a lot of declines so far as well... so as usual the North American players must have a club at R.J Umberger's house where they get together during this tournament and stay up late telling scary stories to one another camped out in a living room or some ****...has to be the reason :sarcasm:

The difference is Canada has a ton of depth so even with a lot of players begging off they will still have a scary team (on paper). That said-they will have Mike Smith in goal!

Who woulda thunk little Tyler Johnson would turn out to be one of the best players on that team?

I know...that is the crazy thing...kid played so well that tournament too..

I remember *****ing that they didn't pick John Moore for that team as I was never a big Warsofsky fan...but he played well and that team all around just had the right components...even the grinders like McRae, Jenks, Wilson, etc all played solid.

I also remember *****ing about D'Amigo...hahaha kid was amazing that tournament...we don't win Gold without him..no doubt about it.
