So what you are saying is bascially that Rahimi should be a lock in the olympics?

You need to have other skills then being physical to be a good d-men, plus those players I mention are physical enough and add other things as well, that Ahnelöv and Rahimi do not.

Rahimi is ofcourse not an olympic player, someone like Grossman maybe.

Rahimi in shape is good 1 vs 1 and can make a decent first pass.

Players you mention are physical enough? Not in the games they have played for Tre Kronor, imo.

Fact is, Rahimi and Ahnelöv were both great in last WC.

No doubt. What was the biggest reason now again that MÃ¥rts did not pick him for the Olympics? I want to remember it like it simply was that MÃ¥rts did not realise what kind of season he was having last year? Also that MÃ¥rts had some hungover from when he had him in juniors or some earlier WC on big ice when Hedman was a different player.

Do not know what hurts the most. EK or Berglund. EK is a lot better player, but we are screaming after someone that can play first line center.

Swedish players seems to care very little about the national team compared to other countries. Look at russia, there the players pretty much always turns up and play proudly, while swedish player have to be sucked up to and even then they do not usually come.

But still we are doing good results, that shows depth and that we have many underrated players, and that MÃ¥rts is a better coach than he get credit for. Because looking at the teams we had over the last years and compare it to others. We should bascially only have one medeal if you would go by the hype around the players that shows up.

In jfc64's lineup Forsberg was a third-liner. Switch them and you'll get a more likely lineup.

We see this every year, what is wrong with swedish NHL players mentalite? Russians, finns, canadians and czech players usuelly shows up with the execptions of olympic year. But not swedes, they have some broken nail every time.

However Iam not sure I agree about the lineup without all the turn downs. Grossman?

Without all the questionable turn down I would go with this team or similar.

I don't want a full group of NHL forwards though, especially not if no one of Sedin, Zetterberg and Bäckström is on the team. They don't have time to come together as a team and they won't have enough talent to make up for it.

A year ago, Lindström & Möller safely outscored Nyquist. These guys know this level. They are for sure better scorers on big ice than Hörnqvist and Landeskog, for instance. I would say it's likely they outscore Lindholm & Forsberg this year but it remains to be seen, I think Foppa could star this tournament personally. Anyway, it's not only about the name on the back, the familiarity and big ice international experience is strong. The hurtful declines are the centers, we can do without the 2nd and 3rd rate wingers.
