Bobrovsky, Kulikov, Anisimov, Yakupov will be invited in training camp

Source:rsport.ru

It would have been a mistake to ignore Yakupov. I suppose that means Nichushkin and Nikitin are not invited.

It's funny to compare Russia's depth on the wings vs centre. They have such great wingers, but it looks like their top centre will be Anisimov. Their top KHL centres lag behind their top KHL wingers as well in terms of their quality.

I am glad that Yakupov will be invited and, even though he has missed almost the entire season because of hip surgery, I think it would be smart to invite Nichushkin as well. In the not too distant future, Nichushkin will have to be counted on to contribute to the NT.

It will be interesting to see if Slepysehv and Yakupov end up on the same line.

Goalies Bobrovsky and Chudobin, defender Kulikov and the attacker Anisimov are all confirmed to come. Along with them, Nail Yakupov will be invited for a tryout.

*Note is that Russia will face Sweden in a double matchup just before the World Championships where NHL-players are expected to join in.

Question: What about Alexander Semin (Carolina Hurricanes), Nikita Nikitin (Edmonton Oilers), Fedor Tyutin (Columbus Blue Jackets) and Mikhail Grigorenko (Buffalo Sabres), do you guys think they will get an invite?

None of these guys are really compelling, but of the group, I think Grigorenko is the one with the most upside. There will be a need for capable centers, and he certainly will be capable in the future, if not already. Also, depending on who else becomes available, Semin has outstanding talent and skill offensively, and should deserve at least some consideration.

Galimov - OUT
Zaitsev, Denisov, Radulov, Grigorenko - IN, but all injuries, only Grigorenko has a chance to play against Finland. How seriously injured Zaitsev, Denisov, Radulov is not reported.

Denisov and Zaitsev will not play in the World Championship due to injury.

Radulov and Grigorenko will not play in the matches against Finland due to injury, but have a chance to play in WC

Funny how so many guys play the last game of the season at full speed and are then unavailable for a tournament being played weeks later.
