Yeah, I wonder why Koltsov is never invited? Is he that bad defensively?

And what about Kutuzov and Zubarev? Are they injured?

Koltsov is indeed a forward who pretends to be a defenceman.

And Kutuzov and Zubarev are injured. This is just not the year for us. Except for the mind boggling non-invite of Zadorov all our proper D-men are either injured or still playing in NA.

(Znarok should basically also hit himself for not inviting Tyutin now. He's not the Savior, but with the squad we have now he would have been a standout:cry:)

We can forget Ovi or Kucherov now

Will he bring in Emelin if Montreal loose ?

I hope so we need him

I like him a lot and i think he can be a good leader for our deffence

Fingers crossed. I somehow doubt this year's Znarok common sense.

it's pretty funny - we hope for Zaripov and Datsyuk and americans bring whoever and beat us. Our depth is way too thing and KHL is the reason for this. Instead of trying to creat a competition for NHL they flooded average players with money and decided they will become equals.

The reason the USA has been so successful in this tournament is that they have a national team concept that no one else has. They have a Soviet-style national development team up to U19, and almost all of their top NHL players have spent years in the NDT system. Their NDT loudly proclaimed that their goal was to imitate what the Soviets had done. If you watch them play, even with mediocre players, they look a little Soviet in the sense that they have a system, everyone knows the system, and everyone fits into it. The other teams are just thrown together, but they have a system strategy that makes even average talents look better than they are.

Prior to the KHL, Russian national teams at the senior level were more or less a disaster. And the available Russian talent continuously diminished as time after the Soviet era passed. Probably the greatest Russian team assembled after 1992 was for the 2000 World Championships in St. Petersburg (Fedorov, Bure, Mogilny, Yashin, etc.), and I think they finished 11th. IMO, the problem is that there are not enough good hockey players being developed, and the KHL is among the few trying to do something about it. As for overpaying players, until the league gets established, they have to do something to try to keep good talent playing at home, as well as to attract top foreign players. So far, the system has produced almost nothing, but what's the alternative?

Now, this is just stupid.

If foreigners were banned from the KHL would Russian defensemen suddenly become better?

I said nothing about banning someone. It's just info about scoring defencemen of KHL. For me it's a very sad stats. It's great for finns? I really don't care.

Lee Chris 4 MMG
Lundin Mike 39 BAR
Bailen Nick 55 DMN
Gunderson Ryan 13 JOK
Hersley Patrik 6 SIB
You really think these player are of Fetisov or Kasatonov level? :sarcasm:

Atas, this list can be sorted by +/-, by ice time etc, by hits.
It will not change much.

I just need to get this out: AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111

So.
Now. Im so annoyed at the fact that we have so many injuries and so few spots left.. If we would get Markov and Yemelin that would be so awesome, but now we will just get one of them...

If Anisimov is injured, I wouldn't be surprised if the last roster spot goes to Loktionov.

From the interview of Valery Konov, head doctor of our team (at fhr.ru),
"Anisimov has some problems with heath now, you can see it during faceoffs. In the last game he received deep face cut. We have to use special glue then put six stitches. Anisimov practiced today. BTW after the game with USA Yakovlev also had six stitches"

Really want to wish health to Anisimov and others.

Important match against Belarus tomorrow. Our boys better not come in relaxed, Belarus means business this year. Apparently, Kovalchuk practiced on a line with Tarasenko and Anisimov. He hasn't been too effective so far, unfortunately.

I think Mozyakin, Tarasenko and Malkin will score tomorrow.

Congratulations on the victory day everybody! However the game today will go against our fellow friends, we will both be winners this day! :handclap:
