Not that I have any objections against Pulkkinen joining the team, but it seems a bit illogical move. If Jalonen figures the team could still use someone who turns the puck into a laser-guided missile, why didn't he just take Palola?

I think it's simple really. KJ thinks J.Pesonen is better than Palola but doesn't think J.Pesonen is as good as Pulkkinen.

Yeah I know. It also crossed my mind but seems like KJ has made up his mind and is interested of Pulkkinen and not Palola.

He most likely already isn't, since both Immonen and Komarov can play.

Louhivaara may end up being gone too if we get Flip or Pulu after tonight's games.

So Detroit got eliminated and Pulkkinen's AHL team won tonight. I believe you need 3 wins to eliminate a team there and his team is down 1-2. Pulkkinen scored 2 goals again and has most goals made in the AHL playoffs it seems and second in points.

So I hope he stops scoring goals and makes some own goals instead so we can have him in The Lions.

Looks like their next game is next Saturday NA time and if it goes to game 5 (last game) that will be the day after, on Sunday. So we'll get to know soon if we'll get him or not.

Since the Marlies have two more chances to cut the series, Pulu may yet be available after the weekend.

Detroit was eliminated, however Grand Rapids took their first win. Pulkkinen scored twice for them and now has five goals in three AHL playoff games.

EDIT: Beaten to it.

H.Pesonen looks more and more like the extra part. It's hard to see them boot Hartikainen in front of him. But then again, coaches are funny...

Of course, it may be that two end up getting sent home anyway, since Pulkkinen can still become a late addition.

It's possible that Rinne does not play in the opener.

If so, Saros or Engren? My choice would be Saros.

Maybe I should not say that out loud though, since Jalonen seems to have a knack of crushing the fans' hopes. Fans think Ristolainen is a lock -> RR gets the boot. Fans say "god damn it, don't play JJ and Sasha together" -> Jalonen stubbornly sticks to it. Coming up next: Fans want to see Saros play if Rinne can't yet -> Jalonen dresses Engren.

And potentially: Fans say H.Pesonen should be cut -> Jalonen cuts Hartikainen.

Yeah hoping for Saros to get in and H.Pesonen to stay out as well. So seems like they prefer Louhivaara over Hartikainen in the hierarchy. I don't personally like that.

Komarov, Hartikainen, H.Pesonen and Hytönen didn't get their passes claimed. Komarov is most likely injured.
Yeah. And if he can't play tomorrow, they'll add Hartikainen before the game.

It was slightly surprising that Louhivaara got added before Härski. But coaches are f...

Honestly, Louhivaara, H.Pesonen, Hartikainen are all the same to me for the 4th line. Hartikainen has more profile, but the other two have been great so far in the pre-tournament games.

I'm going to have nightmares watching our D go against the big teams, oh boy.
