Roo Mad Bro
U havin a giggle m8?
Testament to Giroux's character that he's still going to represent Canada for the Worlds after getting snubbed last Olympics.
I'd go the following...
Hall-Duchene-MacKinnon (holy wheels)
Seguin-Giroux-Spezza
O'Reilly-Nuge-Eberle
Ennis-Eakin-Toffoli
GOALTENDERS (2)
Martin Jones North Vancouver, B.C. Los Angeles Kings (NHL)
Mike Smith Kingston, Ont. Arizona Coyotes (NHL)
DEFENCE (5)
Tyson Barrie Victoria, B.C. Colorado Avalanche (NHL)
Brent Burns Barrie, Ont. San Jose Sharks (NHL)
Aaron Ekblad Windsor, Ont. Florida Panthers (NHL)
Jake Muzzin Woodstock, Ont. Los Angeles Kings (NHL)
David Savard St. Hyacinthe, Ont. Columbus Blue Jackets (NHL)
FORWARDS (12)
Matt Duchene Haliburton, Ont. Colorado Avalanche (NHL)
Cody Eakin Winnipeg, Man. Dallas Stars (NHL)
Jordan Eberle Regina, Sask. Edmonton Oilers (NHL)
Tyler Ennis Edmonton, Alta. Buffalo Sabres (NHL)
Claude Giroux Hearst, Ont. Philadelphia Flyers (NHL)
Taylor Hall Calgary, Alta. Edmonton Oilers (NHL)
Nathan MacKinnon Cole Harbour, N.S. Colorado Avalanche (NHL)
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins Burnaby, B.C. Edmonton Oilers (NHL)
Ryan O'Rielly Clinton, Ont. Colorado Avalanche (NHL)
Tyler Seguin Brampton, Ont. Dallas Stars (NHL)
Jason Spezza Toronto, Ont. Dallas Stars (NHL)
Tyler Toffoli Scarborough, Ont. Los Angeles Kings (NHL)
This is shaping up to be the strongest Canadian WHC squad since 2008.
Easily the best group of forwards in the tournament, and a pretty good D with Burns now signing on.
I think the 'C' is between Spezza and Giroux. Burns will get an 'A' probably.Spezza will be captain. Who gets the A's?
I think the playoffs additions could make it for Canada this year. Add something like Monahan + one of Stamkos/Tavares, defenesemen Brodie+Keith, (+ maybe Dubnyk) and the team is on another level.I believe the 2012 team with 8 players who would go on to be included in the Sochi team would be better. They just coughed up a furball in the 1/4 final.
What I see here, a couple of promising young players with a future in 3-5 years and Duchene, Giroux and Hall.
Hope it all works out this year, but so far I'm not overly optimistic. Still in need for some 1st. rd. elimination players to come through.

so one goaltender spot open, three for defensemen and two for forwards. I assume this is for the end of the 1st round of the playoofs.
So with that roster in mind...
Spezza-Giroux-Segiun
O'Reilly-Duchene-MacKinnon
Hall-RNH-Eberle
Ennis-Eakin-Toffoli
Ekblad-Burns
Muzzin-Barrie
Savard- ?
Jones
Smith
Last defender will probably be Morgan Rielly as long as he passes his medical.
I'd go the following...
Hall-Duchene-MacKinnon (holy wheels)
Seguin-Giroux-Spezza
O'Reilly-Nuge-Eberle
Ennis-Eakin-Toffoli
Duchene and Hall don't work well together. They play style is too similar.
Spezza will be a center for sure.
What I would like to see..
Hall-Giroux-Seguin :Good luck defending that..
Duchy-Spezza-Toffoli
MacKinnon-RNH-Eberle
Ennis-ROR-Eakin
The 2nd and 3rd lines are interchangeable. This gives you a defensive player on every line.
Assuming Rielly passes his medical:
Jason Spezza(A) - Claude Giroux(C) - Tyler Seguin
Ryan O'Reilly - Matt Duchene - Nathan MacKinnon
Taylor Hall - Ryan Nugent-Hopkins - Jordan Eberle
Tyler Ennis - Cody Eakin - Tyler Toffoli
Jake Muzzin - Brent Burns(A)
Morgan Rielly - Aaron Ekblad
David Savard - Tyson Barrie
Mike Smith
Martin Jones
Would be hoping for at least one grittier forward maybe pushing Ennis out as well as a solid left handed defensive minded defender pushing Savard out. The fact that this year will have guys like Ennis and Savard sitting show that it is a very strong team.
Goaltending kind of weak like usual.
