I don't like him anymore.

EDIT: Safe to say that after tonight Zadorov is staying.

Why don't you like him? Because he does what's best for his development? I say it again. I want him at the WC. Right now he should work on his game in the NHL.

... any insights about whether Kraskovsky has a chance of making the team?

Just joking. It'd be fun to watch him at the WJC.

Buch-Barb-Gold would be a nice top line.

For second line I think I would try Tolch-Kamenev-Okulov. Or Golyshev.

Tough to decide between Golyshev and Okulov. Okulov appears to be lighting up the MHL. However, I think Golyshev is a more responsible player if you understand what I mean. Plus he has played around 60+ KHL games now if memory serves me correct?

I have decided that I dislike Golyshev. For no logical reason.

Bragin will figure this out.

Damn Sabres and their brainwashing of Zadorov. I bet he wanted to come and his agent talked him out of it.

I'm happy Zadorov did not come, honestly it is much better for him to keep getting 15-20mins of NHL play per night. By the way, Goal and Assist last night

I know the vibe you are getting from Golyshev, I get it too  However his upside is the amount of KHL games he has played in. I'm not sold on Okulov as well to be honest.

This a pretty obvious decision right now for everyone except you it seems. It's the Junior Championship, not the Olympics.

Nothing wrong with picking Golyshev and Okulov.

All you really need to have a chance at a medal in this tournament, is 2 really good forward lines, good defense and usually great goaltending. Russia has that, and much more. So I consider them to be one of the favourites to win a medal and possibly even gold if all goes well.

Buchnevich - Barbashev - Goldobin
Tolchinsky - Kamenev - Golyshev
Leschenko - Sharov - Mamin
????? - ?????? - ??????

yep, all looks are here, after a couple of games i expect kamenev to be demoted to the fourth line
and the fourth'll be:
penkovskiy/zykov - fischenko - morozov/dergachev
would like to see okulov, but he's smallish and burying him among these grinders on the third and fourth line'd be a travesty.

Yeah, but there's still a possibility for Zadorov at the WC's at the end of the season too.

Plus, I imagine Zadorov/Sabres declining initially is probably better than Russian fans being excited briefly about his inclusion, only to see the commitment retracted due to injuries to Buffalo's defense, as the Sabres are now down to four of the eight defensemen they've been carrying all year. (Strachan, Weber were sidelined headed into last night; then Gorges, Meszaros left in the second period; meant big minutes for Zadorov.)

Your rudeness is out of the blue here. I wasn't surprised by the decision. Simply reacting to earlier reports where the Sabres clearly said they were considering releasing him.

I like the WJCs, so they matter to me. I enjoy watching them more than the Olympics personally.

I'd expect something like this (not precisely what I'd like to see though):

Leschenko - Barbashev – Buchnevich
Tolchinsky - Kamenev – Goldobin
Mamin - Sharov - Golyshev
Penkovsky – Kraskovsky/Dergachyov – Fishchenko
Zykov

Yudin – Rafikov
Gavrikov - Glukhov
Vereshagin – Provorov
Valiev
