That seems like a bit wild statement to me. I make a complaint of Bokros because of him prefering both Jendrol and Pavuk over Maier. He also ignored Pospisil, claiming we have enough offensive players. Not sure how can a head coach of this team make such a statement. 2 goals scored in 3 games, we absolutely don´t need any more offense.

In terms of tactics, game plan or during game coaching is Bokros probably the best one in Slovakia (f.e. he was the most important part of coaching staff in Petrohrad 2000 and Goteborg 2002). Roster selection is not only Bokros or generally head coach decision (like "Vujtek´s" dumb Sochi roster). Every roster must be confirmed by SZLH, so if they want to keep Orange project alive, Orange players (especially ´95 born) must be there over players like Siska, Maier or Pospisil.

Despite all of continuing doubts (like from some posters in SVK - GER game thread), this team has a great tourney. Two exhibition games victories against Czech rep. and Switzerland, victory against defending champion Finland and victory in the most important game of the group against Germany. Two looses against north american teams. Only one goal (Germany) allowed in 13 PK situations (92.31%), but also one goal scored in (only) 9 PP opportunities. Godla with 94,69% SVS and 2.00 GAA in last three games including whole tournament big favourites USA and Finland.
Unquestionable, there are a lot of failures and mistakes in passes receiving, puck handling, skating, but IMO every player is playing his best at the moment. Sure we expected more from Paulovic, Soltes or maybe Cehlarik, but Bondra, Skalicky or Bacik are pleasant surprises yet.
Bokros with good moves - we are playing with six D-men (Jendrol will be benched for whole tournament, Pavuk could be used in emergency case like against USA), new attacking lines works better and we are really playing good in PP and PK situations (despite only one PP goal), Bokros knows very well how to use players during special game situations.
If we were able to beat SUI or CZE in exhibition game, we are sure able to beat them in QF. The most realistic is game against Russia, I see here also a realistic chance to win this one. We have Reway.

The PP against Germany with Reway directing things looked really good, we have something to build on in the QF.

We definitely have a chance to succeed in the QF against Swiss or Czechs or even Russians with a great game from Godla and a good defensive effort. Game against Russia IMO has two possible scenarios, either a close game that could go either way if what I mentioned works or a blowout.

As for the doubts, I believe it's very important for our players that they believe in themselves and that they can (or otherwise it ends up like the Canada game), but from my experience their bring their best game when they are in the underdog position, even from the eyes of their own fans and the hockey community overall. So I am relying on that.

Another point perhaps worth mentioning: this has been 20 years now on our own in this tournament. Twenty years later we are still able to produce teams that can compete in this tournament.

The depth is perhaps less, though it never was great. In those 20 years, only one country has caught us: Switzerland. Some programs have vanished into obscurity: Ukraine. Once we won a medal. A few times we finished in the top five. Usually we don't. But we're always around, always dangerous.:)

Klobuk dole, hats off to 20 years of Slovakia at the World Junior Championships.

Congrats guys. Is your next years team worse than this?

Hard to tell, there's no forward who is as skilled as Reway this year, but we could be even better off in regard to goaltending. There's Matej Tomek and Pajpach who was a draft pick last year although he isn't playing this season to injury, so who knows what will be with him.

Returning next year on defence will be Christian Jaros and Erik Cernak so that is very good news. Moving on is Patrik Bacik which is too bad. Joining the defence could be Patrik Maier and Mario Grman of the WHL should Bokros desire. So the defence will probably be better.

In terms of goaltending, hard to get better than Godla has been this year, but they are a couple of promising goaltenders as mentioned above, especially Tomek.

It is at forward where there is perhaps most concern. That is because Reway is graduating. The past few WJC, Slovakia has had a top forward like Marko Dano or Martin Reway to lean on. Also moving on will be Peter Cehlarik. Returning will be Radovan Bondra who has been solid for Slovakia this tournament. Little Matus Sukel can return also, he had a nifty goal tonight versus Germany. The forwards will be joined by perhaps Mily, Pospisil, Siska, etc.

So perhaps more of a team effort next year.

In project Slovkia 18, there are few prospects which can be also called/moved to U20..

In defence I would like to mention Andrej Hatala (1997, SR U18, Dukla Trencin).

Denis Godla (1995, Slovan), Maximilian Pajpach (1996, Tappara U20), Matej Tomek (1997, Topeka RoadRunners), Vladimír Slivka (1997, HC Presov), Dávid Hrenák (1998, SR U18, HK Dukla Trencin), Jakub Lackovič (2000, SR U18, HK Ruzinov) etc.

It's quite funny, but now we have so many young talented gk, that I have no worries about our goaltending in next/coming years..

From forwards I would definitely mention Adrián Holešinský (1996, Jokipojat U20), Filip Lešťan (1997, Lulea U18/U20), Peter Valent (1997, SR U18, HC Banska Bystrica). They are not on the Reway level yet, but they have potential and maybe next year.. who knows..

Also years 1998 and 1999 looks promising, for example Matej Galbavý (1998, Mora), Samuel Solensky (1998, Bili Tygri Liberec U20), Miloš Roman (1999, HC Trinec U16/U18), Patrik Hrehorcak (1999, HC Trinec U16/U18)..

I hope Bokros is happy with his nomination. Stupid bunch of amateurs, our whole federation. Jendrol can´t even skate. Dissolve that stupid Orange 20 crap already.

Yes, I think he's pretty happy.

Great job coach and great job team.

Convincing wins against the Germans and the Czech rep take us to medal rounds.

Denis Godla is the first slovak goaltender with shutout in play-off of U20 WjC.
There were some others important shutouts in group games like Lasak vs. Canada in 1999, Budaj vs. Czech rep. in 2002 or maybe Sevela in 5th place game vs. Czechs in 2003, but never in important play-off game.

I am really happy for our result, but it doesn´t change anything about Jendrol and Pavuk. Maier and Pospisil should have been on this team.

Bokros prefers players from Orange, that's obvious. He does it to keep juniors in Slovakia. I mean, if so many 16-17yo leave Slovakia for CHL, Sweden or Finland we might as well cancel this project.

Brief look at next year. Tomek is in USA, Pajpach supposed to play in Finland. We could release Orange goalie coach to save money.

Or our defence prospects. Cernak, Jaros, Maier, Romancik, Ivanic, Koch, Grman, Sloboda. All hot candidates for next year WC. None of them from Orange. With Jaros, Cernak and Maier being locks, I guess Bokros may omit rest of them next year. Their only chance to get to WJC is to return to Slovakia and play in Orange. Bokros just showed them he is not afraid to take guys like PAvuk or Jendrol instead.

Same with forwards.

Lantosi plays in Sweden, Soltes and Gibl in NA, so I guess its not problem as you think. They can be called to national team if they want them, also as I wrote it before we have another couple of talented gks. In fact Denis Godla played in Slovan not in SK U20, and he is only 19...

In fact every single player is a player of his domestic team, they're just on loan in HK Orange 20 team. But Godla DID play for HK Orange 20 this season. I would love to know, where you found this information. As for his age, it's irrelevant, the birthyear is what matters. And since he's 1995, he's not eligible to play next year at WJC.

About the aforementioned names. BokroÅ¡ complained about the agents at press conference held before the HK Orange 20 season, that almost all defensemen from last-year U18 NTDP had been gone. So he's aware of this fact, he knows that, but to be honest, Koch (judging from what he played last year), Sloboda and Grman wouldn't be omissions, that hurt. I don't mention Ivanič, because he simply does not belong to national team, in my opinion.

I know that but its irelevant, if you look in to my previous post you will see there somthing like Andrej Hatala (1997, SR U18, Dukla Trencin).

This means Name (birthyear, project if he plays in any, his team)

Yes he played but he was called back to his team, but again its irelevant. It was reaction to previous post, where someone wrote that its problem if he did not played in SK U20 project, because Bokros prefers players which played there. No its not problem he called Lantosi (Swe), Soltes, Gibl (NA) and even Godla which was in Slovan at least last month before WJC.

The Orange team played their last Extraliga game pre WJC camp on the 4th December against Skalica, so you can't really say that he left the team.

Anyway, as for Bokros not taking non Orange players to the WJC, how about his first WJC roster back in 2012?

Peter Bezuska HC Trinec (CZE)
Michal Cajkovsky Ottawa 67's (CAN)
Peter Ceresnak Peterborough Petes (CAN)
Martin Gernat Edmonton Oil Kings (CAN)
Adam Janosik Gatineau Olympiques (CAN)
Martin Marincin Prince George Cougars (CAN)
Marko Dano Dukla Trencin (SVK) (he did join the Orange team for a few games shortly before the tourney though)
Vladimir Dolnik Everett Silvertips (CAN)
Tomas Jurco Saint John Sea Dogs (CAN)
Richard Mraz Tatranski Vlci (MHL)
Michal Toman Traverse City North Stars (NHL)
Marek Tvrdon Vancouver Giants (WHL)

Maybe he could have taken a handul of other non Orange players this year too, like Tomek, Maier or Pospisil. But the truth is also that the numbers of our players oveseas (especially in CHL) are shrinking and most of the players that are there are struggling.

Defense 2015/16 Orange U20 IMO:

Moravcik, Vadovic, Hatala, Mendrej, Konig, Bilik, Garay, Kolesar

So I guess with this result we can now call the Orange team project a success. Just look at Czech republic, which has no such project and they now have failed to advance through QFs 10 years in a row and counting. Slovakia has this medal and another top 4 appearance that year with Tatar, Panik and Janus.
