I hope Bokros is happy with his nomination. Stupid bunch of amateurs, our whole federation. Jendrol can´t even skate. Dissolve that stupid Orange 20 crap already.

Okolicany as backup was big Bokros mistake. He is very small to play in this type of game against team like Canada. Two easy goals over shoulder. Gibl should be there after third goal.
Every single D-man made a horrible mistake. Rosandic had some positive offensive moments, Bacik was IMO quite solid (and only player with 0 rating), Jendrol finished game with unbelievable -5. :help:
Reway unvisible, no shot, one great pass, rating -4 and of course BP of slovak team. Lantosi and Koys with effort in attacking zone. Skalicky was playing in three jerseys (28, 29 and 26) according slovak TV commentator Matus Mazec.

I was saying it from the beginning - take Matej Tomek. But no, he refused to go to the project in the summer and not taking him to the WJHC was BokroÅ¡'s revenge. Same with Maier, in what universe is he worse than Jendroľ or Pavúk?

Bačik was pretty good, I absolutely don't understand why he started on the fourth pairing, when he played whole season with Hochel. Jendroľ no comment, should be scratched for the rest of the tournament. Difference between Rosandić's defensive and offensive play is like night and day, the puck was bouncing of his stick all night. JaroÅ¡ wasn't bad either, I think he had one terrible giveaway though.

As you said, LantoÅ¡i and KoyÅ¡ with some bright moments, I also liked Skalický and Sukeľ.

Bacik has really good tournament so far. Very confident defensive play. Bondra surprised me today, worked hard in PK situations. Same Kabac and Skalicky, but it was expected. Finally, first line showed some signs, why they are our first line.
Godla :handclap:
Reway and his 100+ seconds shifts

I agree with you and finally BokroÅ¡ made some good move - benching Jendroľ and Pavúk after 1st and I hope that was their last game. Also have to mention that Å oltés is absolutely invisible, I would break that line.

I know they won, but the roster really lacks quality.

What do the upcoming age groups look like?

Next 2 championships we should have better goaltending (96 - Maximilian Pajpach, 97 - Matej Tomek, Adam Huska) and defense (96 - Christian Jaros, Patrik Maier, Ladislav Romancik, Samuel Ivanic, Patrik Koch,... 97 - Erik Cernak, Andrej Hatala, Mario Grman, Michal Roman,... 98 - Martin Bodak, Matus Juriga, Tomas Hedera,...) than last couple of years, but much weaker offense.

Ugh. The 2002 version was a black hole at every position. May be the only slovak junior team i have seen worse than this one. To think that next years will be worse on offense than this one is scary.

You must have your years mixed up because 2002 I believe was the year Marek Svatos averaged 1 goal per game and was a tournament all-star. That team produced some players that went on to the NHL like Peter Budaj, Tomas Kopecky and Milan Jurcina.

That isn't an entirely fair statement. It would not be unreasonable to state that two Slovak forwards have the potential to be NHL players: Cehlarik and Reway. In the grand scheme of things, that is not bad for such a little country, that still seems to be able to produce an NHL level player per year.

I was about to post this, bad news for us. I was excited that I won't see Jendroľ and Pavúk anymore. I'm curious what our D lines will look like.

Holenda - Jaroš
Hochel - Bačik
Rosandić - Pavúk ?

Our D lines will look like this: rest up and prepare for Germany.

For those that are following, Juraj Siska scored a goal this afternoon versus Moncton. Yesterday Patrik Maier dropped his gloves and fought Rodney Southam of the Kelowna Rockets.

Both Siska and Maier could only dream of having the amazing skill set of Dominik Jendrol - a true force of nature.

As for next-year age group, I wouldn't say the defense is better. Also those names you named are not the guarantee of quality (Why the hell you mention Ivanič?).

At the same time, we can agree to disagree whether the offense will be weaker. I'm not so sure about that. The truth is we do not have anybody like Martin Réway within the next age groups, but at the same time, there are a number of skilled forwards, we can count on, although probably the offense will not be so strong as it is this year. But definitely I would not say MUCH weaker.

But the most important thing is, that we simply cannot be sure how the players will develop in a year. I had huge expectations from 1997 this-year, but unfortunately I have to confess, that many of the players have dissapointed me. But you never know, maybe they'll bounce back.

It was thinking Halifax which i thought was 02 but it is a bit of a blur. I recall watching them in the quarters and could not believe how bad they were. Jurcina was hurt and Stehlik was about the best player they could muster up.

The 2003 team in Halifax had no major names but as a collective they played well: 3-0 win over Switzerland, 2-0 win over the Czech Republic, 11-1 win over Belarus. Slovakia has had more talented teams that accomplished less.

They had no major talents like Reway, but at the same time, back then the depth was not as awful as it is now. The final defensive pairing on the current Slovak squad is just atrocious.

By the way, the best player the 2003 team "could muster up" was perhaps Dominik Granak. Granak has had a fine career, including being on the 2013 silver medal winning team. Not a single forward on that team however went on to accomplish anything of note.

The 2008 team wasn't the best year either:

especially whe you consider the pretty good results they had (no blow out I believe). Just goes to show that all you need is for ok results in this tourney is an above averag goalie (Hudáček in this case).

But since that year, our roster always included at least some players with NHL potential and at least some who played at least a few NHL games , I believe. Hope this year doesn't break the tradition.

And Hudáček was the biggest reason why we lost to Canady only by 2-goal margin. At the same time, I'm not afraid to say we were better team in the game against Sweden, but Enroth with a plenty of really good saves, protected the Swedish lead in the end of 3rd.

They definitely did well with what they had and yes, Granak went on to be very good player, better than Stehlik in his pro career.

I only got to see 2 periods against US yesterday, but was impressed by the defensive effort. However it makes me worry about today's game against Germany, hope the guys aren't too tired.

Bokroš please scratch Jendroľ and Pavúk for the game against Germany and take Šoltés of the second/third line, he's done absolutely nothing in those three games.

I agree that Jendrol and Pavuk are awful however overall I don´t make of complaint of Bokros. Bokros is the main reason that Slovakian U20 hasn´t relegated yet. Czech team with Bokros on the bench would be real contender for medal.
