Yeah and you tout Lazar all you want as well but at the end of the day all it is is your opinion and you know what they say about opinions :p: I will give you some facts though. Bo is much better in the face off circle, gifted actually as he is has a .560 winning FO % in the NHL where as Lazar is considerably behind but respectable .462. I watched one game in which he won 12 of 13 draws against Chicago and destroyed Toews in the FO circle so we know for sure who is best in FO's. As well, Bo has always been very advanced in the checking department. Think about it. Ottawa deemed Lazar expendable for the Junior tournament meaning they wouldn't miss him much where as Vancouver were not about to let him go. Mind you Kassian is out with an injury as well but still.

Yet, Horvat has been averaging 2:30 less/game than Lazar. I am sure Horvat's 10 min/game are integral.

I have not been watching Horvat so I can't comment on him. I have been watching Lazar and I don't remember the sens ever having a 19 year old be this solid in his own end. The guy is solid, the sens have no qualms throwing him out there in OT, late in games protecting leads including on PK's.

There is no concern whatsoever about Lazar's defensive game. He has been outstanding on that front.

Michael Dal Colle:

23GP/21G/25A/46P

Currently riding 15 game point streak (16G/16A/32P)

THE best player and THE main game breaker on the # 1 team in the CHL

I know I'm simply echoing what everyone here is posting about, but how in the world is this guy NOT a lock on this team. My goodness. Like someone else said...if Crouse/Ritchie/Dickinson etc make it over him then we have a problem with player selection.

He will be on Roster By the end of tourney you will see Dal Colle Petan Point on a deadly

third line. Don't worry about size Point plays way bigger than his 167 lbs.

I love that Lazar will be on this team. He is one of my favourite players and he is exciting to watch. I can see him and McDavid being the Tavares/Eberle of this tournament.

McDavid and Jankowski talking about the expectations and gold-medal drought (more here:http://www.tsn.ca/canada-tries-to-s...ld-junior-gold-drought-at-five-years-1.162820)

"I know people are starting to doubt Canada and they don't really believe anymore," McDavid said. "It's annoying a little bit. You see how past people did and how past teams did and how great they were and everything like that. People just don't expect that out of us anymore.
"They expect us to lose. That's just not how it should be for Canada."

To Hockey Canada director of player personnel Ryan Jankowski, the past two years weren't good enough, but the previous five years, which included two gold medals in 2008 and 2009 — could've gone either way. Jankowski pointed out how Canada needed a shootout to beat the U.S. and overtime to beat Sweden and Russia to make it five.
"We got the bounces for three straight years, we didn't get the bounces for two, and then the last two we haven't been as good as we should be," Jankowski said. "It is frustrating, but it's also how tight international hockey is now."

"With it being on our soil and with the home crowd behind us and stuff like that, I don't see any reason why this can't be the year for Canada," McDavid said. "It's our game, hockey's our game and it's our pride, it's our joy and it's our job to put the belief back into Canadians."

The last 3 tourneys haven't been about Canada not getting the bounces. If he actually believes that, then he's living in delusional world. Hope he has his resume up to date and ready to fly on Jan 6 if the "bounces" ends up being something less than an appearance in the GMG.

but good on McDavid for talking with a set of stones and some gumption.

He means the years 2008,09, and 2010, not the last three years. He even said that the past two years weren't as good as it should

Ya, I get what he's saying, but what he's actually saying is "well, it's really not my fault, don't blame me, we have to get bounces in order to win...and when we don't..."

that's what he's saying. spinning it to save his ass. The first rule in the working world. cover your ass.

bottom line is, anything less than an appearance in the gold medal game, then this guy should hit the bricks. find another job.

Well, I think he's saying from 2008-2012 the team was where it needed to be and that for the first three years they got the breaks and in the last two they didn't. Then he seems to be saying in 2013 and 2014 it wasn't a matter of bad breaks, instead the teams weren't good. That could be passing the buck if he and his mates aren't taking some blame for the team not being good, but wherever the blame should go I do sort of agree with his general premise. The past two teams weren't good on the ice, even with all the hype the 2013 team had. The stretch before that the teams were good enough to win gold but didn't always, because that's the reality now.

People will read into it whatever they want...but bottom line is, at this level, it's a results oriented business, and if you don't get the results, bounces or no, then somebody has to pay the price. What I get from his spiel is, somebody knows what a poor result this year means and he's doing a little pre-tourney PR politicking for his cushy job beyond the 6th of Jan. My mind is already made up on him. I'd rather see him move on to some other gig.

Meh...not liking those forward lines. Looks like only one line is a legit threat to score (I know they're missing 3 top 9 forwards). I really hope we see both Fabbri and Dal Colle move into the top 9 in the tournament.

Fabbri should be playing with McDavid, no question. To quote Stephen A. Smith: I know what I saw. I remember summer camp. Most players looked good on McDavid's wing, but Fabbri seemed to be on the same wave length.

I can see why the Nucks didn't want to send him, but its really too bad Team Canada won't have Horvat for the tournament. I LOVE a top 9 of:

Fabbri - McDavid - Duclair
Domi - Reinhart - Virtanen
Dal Colle - Horvat - Lazar

Two great scoring lines and a line that can shutdown anyone with Lazar and Horvat on it.

It would be the best shutdown line Canada has ever had
