He should still be in the AHL. He's waaaaaaaaaay to small right now.

I think that he can be fine if we put him with the right line. If it was like Gaudreau - Byron - Cammy we'd have a problem.
But JG - Monahan - Colborne has the right amount of size; IMHO. Especially if Big Joe works on getting bigger and Monahan continues to mature. That will be one of those lines that I could see 40+ points (per player) out of next year alone.

Gaudreau was being knocked to the ice by shoves that mostly every over NHLer can take no problem. AHL will be better for him.

The AHL is not quite as structured as the NHL. I'd even say there are just as much enforcers down there. Players are just as big, fast, the physicality of the league isn't much different either. And of course you have your career AHL'ers so not everyone is a young, up and comer. For me, now that he's turned pro, the issue of size is a non factor because he's going to encounter the same size of players in both leagues. Many teams have hulking dman like a Kanzig, Pelech, or the Negrin's of the hockey world developing on their farm teams. The biggest challenge for him is going to be the speed and mental aspect of the game, and as of now it is looking like that is no problem for him whatsoever. I really believe that he's going to be a full time NHL'er next season. I could be wrong, but I feel very confident in saying that. If he's not physically ready to handle pro hockey in general, it would of best for him to stay in College.

I agree with Volica's line combo, I think that will be a dynamite line. I hope Colborne keeps bringing the nasty next year, and with Gaudreau's playmaking ability, he may really have a breakout season. I think JG is capable of scoring 40-45pts next season.

NHL is quite a bit faster IMO. But you are dead on about the rest. I would say the AHL games are more chippy too.

I have a 23 year old roommate, and she always gets me saying these silly comments. I will see myself to the penalty box for 2 minutes, and feel shame.
That's a 5 minute major with a review for suspension

You are right about the speed actually, I agree with that 100%, and I think JG can totally handle that.

And I won't argue the penalty either, I was drunk with excitement after watching that goal.

WJC was a coming out party for Gaudreau as a legit prospect. This WC is yet another coming out party for Gaudreau as someone that can hang with the pros. God damn why can't the season start TODAY

The month is May. The season starts in October.

"I was wondering why the season couldn't start today. RaginStajan told me that it starts in October. It's May now, so it makes sense that it isn't starting." -boring Sean Monahan.

Because Baertschi's injured, that's why.
