What a horrible site. Doesn't tell me anything useful.

I.e. where can I catch the train from Copenhagen airport?

Under fares, there are no prices.... How much does it bleepin cost haha

The train station is at the Copenhagen airport. The fare was like $30.cdn return to Malmo the last time I checked.

Did one on test. København Lufth/Kastrup (Copenhagen Airport) to Malmö Hyllie (Malmö Arena) costs 105 SEK for one adult and it takes 13 minutes.

I'll let the locals help you with the logistics..

I'm staying at the Lavilla Guesthouse in Copenhagen. It's about a 30 minute walk (13 minute subway ride) to the airport.

Btw how much is this Oresundstag? I can catch it from the airport right?

Jonnieboy15, That would be amazing man! I will keep you posted on/when I get tickets; I'm gonna be heading there on the 28th and leaving on the 1st, hitting both the Canada games on the 30th and 31st. Is the Best Western a good spot?

Of course, always fun too meet some fellow hockey fanatics over a few pints. Best Western looks good, I work at one myself up in Nyköping and they're usually okey. Sauna and spa is a plus, and location right down town. We're paying 7200kr for 2 rooms 4 nights, not bad.

We're going to Canadas game on the 30th, but will attend Sweden-Russia the 31st. Thinking about taking the train to Copenhagen on new years eve since there're no games at the 1st. Send me a PM and we can talk more!

I'm not gonna go to much in depth on this whole ticket thing, since I'm no expert.
Let's just start like this.
You'll probably already know how to get from the hotel to the airport, since..well you've must have taken that trip when arriving in the first place.
At the airport you'll find an DSB ticket office right next to the pathway that'll lead you down to the train tracks.
Ask them for the cheapest ticket to and from Malmö.
You'll probably end up with some sort of 24h ticket.
DSB is the danish version of our Skånetrafiken.
Basically it's still two different operators though, which means they might have different forms of discounts for this trip.
Remember that the 105 SEK that's stated here is Skånetrafiken standard single fare price.
You can and will find cheaper prices than that.
If you get the return fare ticket (24 hour) or something even better, there's other benefits to it.
Your train ticket will also be valid on the buses in Malmö.
And well, it'll be valid on the buses and metro in Copenhagen too.
Though it's a bit trickier in Copenhagen since the city itself is divided into different ticket zones.
And well, the airport and your hotel are in two different zones.
Like I said, going too much in depth makes it complicated for me.
Ask the real experts (ticket office) about the cheapest and simplest way to reach both your destinations.
One thing I can tell you though, if you find out how to use the ticket machines in any train station, Copenhagen Airport is probably not the best possible place for you.
I beleive you'll also have to change metro train if you're heading for the airport.
DR Byen Station is the closest metro station to your hotel I think.
This metro train runs straight to Ørestad station, and guess what other train stops in Ørestad?
That's right, the train for Malmö...
This is when I'll post my old google map thingy again with all the trains.
Now updated with the Metro stations too.

That was pretty much the reason we decided to make home base in Malmo. We chose the Elite Hotel Savoy, Across the street from Central train station.

It is a pricey choice yes.
The Öresundsbridge to Copenhagen is a toll road, the only one we've got around here.
Basically the commuters are repaying some of the costs of building that bridge.
Although I doubt they'll ever make it cheaper even if they got their money back...
Anyway, 1900 SEK/Month is what I'm paying to get to my workplace in Copenhagen every day.

I'm planning on coming for at least 3-4 days now as I wasn't able to come back to Canada for Xmas, but if I go I'll be alone, which would suck but oh well. Being a foreign law student coming over here, it was a little expensive for me to come all the way back to Canada for the holidays lol. But a lot cheaper for me to head to the World Jr's so I might as well try and take advantage. Where is everyone staying and any advice for me? Greatly appreciated, and if anyone wants to meet up for drinks or meals or anything, let me know, Cheers!

You definitely won't be the only Canadian studying in the UK hopping over for some games. There's at least a few of us coming from London!

We have 4 guys traveling from Copenhagen airport to malmo. we are buying a discount card called the JOJO Duo / Family card $300 Kronor So about $48 CDN return for two people. that brings the price down a bit especially if your crossing the bridge everyday. can you change hotels, stay in Malmo then cross the bridge once to visit Copenhagen. We changed hotels once already.

I believe they dropped the prices slightly last year because they were making more money than they had expected.

Anyway, you're probably right that crossing the bridge will never be free, but once it's been paid off I'd imagine the prices will go down considerably.

Question from a Dane: Can i buy beers at the arena, and how expensive are they?

Yes, and it will almost certainly cost more than it's worth. And beer sold at Swedish sporting events is exclusively 1.5% or 3.5%.

You can however drink regular beer as well but then you have to be in the bar, you're not allowed to drink champagne, wine, beer with more than 3,5% and so on at your seats. And don't get to drunk because then they will throw you out and let you sleep at the police station :) been there done that.

Nobody at the games...

I watched the game Friday (Canada vs. Finland) and was really surprised at the size of the "crowd". It was more like a meeting..:sarcasm: I think there were maybe 50 people in the rink.
Just turned on the U.S. vs. Sweden and there were maybe 80 people in the rink. And the games are in Sweden.

It really makes me wonder why the IIHF would hold a WJC in such a place. Not much income there....

The tournament hasn't even started yet, these are just meaningless exhibition matches. Once the real games start, they should be fairly well attended. Just don't expect every game to be a sellout, junior hockey is not that big in Europe (though Sweden is probably the most enthusiastic European country when it comes to juniors).

5 games in the 13k arena are sold out afaik. The exhibition games are not played where the tournament is.
