I will throw anything at CBJ that isn't McDonagh, including Kreider and Stepan, for Johansen.

As I made mention while he was here, MDZ looked tolerable in NY only because we force-fed him 4 minutes of PP time a game which kept his offensive numbers at an acceptable level, and paired him with a competent defenseman.

Any time he lost PP time or was paired with a guy like Moore or Gilroy, it was game over.

He was on a very strong defensive team and playing in front of the best goalie int he world.

I still don't think he looked good outside of the lockout shortened season.

I would send Kreider or Stepan away for Johansen. He is going to be an elite player in this league and is already easily better than both those guys.

Zucc willing to take less to stay here.

This is VERY good news :) Glad some of these guys are willing to be team players. Glen was right when he said they needed to get off their high horses and lower their demands if they want to continue to perform.

As if Rangers fans weren’t already in love with Mats Zuccarello, here comes this quote from the Norwegian winger on his contract negotiations with the Rangers (via Nettavisen)….

“The most important thing to me is how many years the contract is for, not necessarily how much the salary is. I want to be able to compete for the Stanley Cup every season and therefore will not necessarily push wages up to the maximum.”

Give him 5 years at 3.3-3.5 per. Saves us a bit, and he yields more over the term

John Davidson has not made 1 bad move for that franchise since he got there.

Thinking that he would trade a 21 y/o center who just put up 63 points and an over 30 goal performance is not something that I can see him doing.

I would be doing cartwheels if he signed for 3.5 mil over 5 years.

RJ would be great, but not sure we have the assets or cap space considering he is refusing to sign a bridge deal. Any from what I've read here, I don't think we can offer sheet anyone worthwhile bc of our lack of 1st rd pick next year.

Very possibly. And it always begs the question on why the Rangers opted for Moore over Savard when they were already pretty flush on the left side and weak on the right. I'm not sure that's a trade you make if you're truly confident about MDZ.

I think they just opted for a player they liked in his draft year and who could really skate moreso than looked for the side of play.

With the article on the main trade boards stating how far apart CLB and RJ are, any chance he is dealt? Any chance we could make a play for him?

No chance the Rangers have enough

Would have to be an awfully big +

Everyone in Rangerland is worried about Miller being able to handle a 3rd line spot to start the season. I fail to see where he has much value around the league.

Not saying that he'll come close to even getting Johansen... but cmon man. Don't be blind. He has value.

21 y/o w/ a high high ceiling? Nope. No value.

Johansen has no leverage. We have the same dance every year. He will sign close to camp or might even miss some camp. The player doesn't move. It's a waste of time because the team will match. Same nonsense with Stepan last season.

L-O-L us Ranger fans should know that we never would have made it to the SCF if we still had DZ in our defensive end giving up pucks...

Not sure if posted:

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger

Dan Boyle will have multiple offers tomorrow on a 2 yr deal. TB, Tor, Det, NYR and Mtl believed to be his top 5. #TSN

Out of all the D-men out there (Fayne, Stralman, Ehrhoff) Boyle is the one I'd be concerned about the most because he most likely will be paid the most of these guys and his played slipped a bit last season.

I would love to have an Ehrhoff or Edler in our system. Granted, Edler did not have a good season last year but still.

Which should make him cheaper to be traded.

I'd love him. Think he'd excel, especially with someone like Stralman on his right side.
