I'm all about Ehrhoff now. Three years at $3.33m? Will he take a "reduced" salary since he's being paid quite nice by the Sabres? He and AV have history. Could be a fit. 94 points in 159 games under AV.

McD - G
Staal - Ehrhoff
Moore - Klein

That's a solid 6D. Not to mention Ehrhoff (at that salary) and Klein together cost barely over what Stralman by himself would.

Run that for next season, ship out Klein at the 2015 draft if McI or anyone else prove ready.

Yes but the facts that they (1) are currently over the cap and (2) tweeted out that they are buying him out (and later deleted it) leads me to believe they might consider moving him.

lol Brian Boyle wat ****?!

Anyway, Gagner at his current hit, or after re-signing him post buyout?

Not sure they could squeeze his 4.8.

Staal is an upcoming UFA coming off a serious eye injury and concussion in back to back seasons. Whether its realistic or not 2 of his brothers are in Carolina there is always the possibility he follows suit. Even if he doesn't go to Carolina and he is shipped out, his perceived value here is just wrong..... Vatanen & etem??? ROR??? If those are the expectations you guys are in for a serious shock. Think late first & mid level prospect

Its been pretty well noted that one or perhaps both of them are going to be shipped out of Carolina.

Marc Staal gets back a legitimate roster player and a pick, guaranteed.

I know that being massively uninformed is like a default setting for a Devil fan but come on...

Fayne is absolutely comparable to Stralman.. Fayne is not a third pairing dman. he played with Greene the whole year on the top pair and did an admirable job against top competition. He will make 3 million easy...

LOL, you guys shifting your names is confusing as hell, but you have distinctive avatars at least

I'd be interested in Gagner post-buyout or if Tampa eats some.

Ehrhoff at 3.3 would be amazing, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Just because he played in a top-4 role on awful Jersey doesn't mean he's legitimately a top-4 defenseman.

He is not comparable to Stralman. He's a poor man's Stralman on his best day.

We can agree to disagree since I doubt I'll change your mind. You clearly see the game differently than I do. Let's leave it at that.

It wont be easy. Po got size, skills, speed and great hockey IQ. Yes he takes some bad penalties, but he got alot of skills. We need him, but we cant afford him (well at least I think we cant).

I actually think the thing we'll miss the most about Pouliot is his PP time. Right now we basically only have two guys that'll stand in front of the net on the PP. That's Kreider and Pouliot. Nash can but it isn't ideal. Callahan used to when he was here. Who is gonna be the net front presence if Pouliot isn't on the team? I suppose maybe Miller could slide into that role but I don't know if he's ever been utilized in front.

It would be great if TB bought out Gagner. Would add another quality 2c to the market for the Rangers to look at. I'd be interested if his price was right. Another undersized center but he has skill

Or if they traded him to Arizona taking a buyer off the market.

Brian Boyle what ****.

Yeah, something doesn't make sense about the Gagner acquisition.

was there a worse signing ever than christian ehrhoff by buffalo? they spent over 20m dollars on him to miss the playoffs each year, go into tank mode, and then buy him out. he was actually a good player through it all too which just makes it more bizarre.
