Kesler to Anaheim done according to Dreger...

All we need is Thornton to declare he wont waive his NTC for any destination and Spezza to be sent to Dallas, now.

They would be dominant and very difficult to play against

Anaheim? Sure.

They still have perennial choker Boudreau as their coach and no consistent goalie. Their rookie was good, but you still don't know what you have there.

They get Miller and Kesler and then you're talking about a team with little-no weaknesses, on paper.

That's a pretty solid deal for both teams

That's pretty solid.

Bonino broke out. Deal success for Canucks really hinges on if he can build off what he did last year.

24th overall is nice. Sbisa is solid too.

Vancouver gets some nice depth. No real high end talent, but really solid depth.

According to Boyle's agent Boyle is headed to free agency. Please sign Stralman.

Nice deal potentially for Anaheim, but a decent haul for a guy that hasn't been a huge factor since 2011 for Vancouver.

I like it for both teams.

A think that i've been wondering all day. If Rangers and Stralman/other FA's are really that far apart, we likely would have seen them traded for some later draft picks - like Boyle/Halak and Isles.

Leads me to believe that deals can get done. Not as pessimistic as it seems, i think.

How many people a) have that in their cable packages and b) watch it on a consistent basis?

I barely had time to watch some Rangers games this year... let alone peruse the contents of other channels for college hockey.

Thats interesting, especially since you're putting the burden of proof on others as to why they are skeptical that rookies can fill key roster spots this season.

Everyone's ******** on Vancouver for that deal but I think it's a decent haul. Maybe they could have gotten more but it's always tough when trading someone with a NTC. Bonino is a very solid get.

Wouldn't be shocked if Sather chases Jason Garrison now that the Nucks have a backload on D.

Would certainly add that PP shot, and seems to be passable on 5v5D. Seems like Nucks' fans were happy with him when he was paired with Haimhuis; Staal is a decent comparison.

Possible Stralman replacement?

So what you're saying to me is:

"Ken, in previous arguments, I have denounced the significance of statistical data because it simply is not enough to paint the full picture. I will also emphasize my opinion over yours, even though I have never gone to see our prospects play in person or in frequency and you have."

Can't use stats to prove points. Can't use physical scouting to prove points. Can't allude to the high number of prospects that we've relied on to play NHL roles for us since Sather got here.

But hell, your gut feeling and loose observation clearly supersedes all of that... because, BRB logic.

If it was Ottawa's 1st rounder (#10) instead of the #24, I would be a great return for Vancouver.

Even though I think Kesler is overrated, if I'm Anaheim, I make that trade any day of the week. Sbisa has never lived up to his potential (even though only 24), 24th pick isn't that impressive, and Bonino just broke out at 26 w/ a shooting percentage a few points higher than where it will presumably settle.

2nd liner, a #4/5 defensemen, and a late first. Ok, but not gangbusters and worth it for a team as stocked as Anaheim.

Told the Coyotes are strongly considering buying out Mike Ribeiro. The veteran forward is under contract through 2016-2017. Not official.
