Great to see the Norwegian curling team getting off to a good start. Aganist USA right now they are in the lead with 5-3 after four frames. And you can't find better uniforms anywhere in the Olympics.

Under are the uniforms they are actually playing in right now.

**** yeah! Gold to Ola Vigen Hattestad on the mens sprint, and gold to Maiken Caspersen Falla and silver to Ingvild Flugstad Østberg on the womens sprint. Great Norwegian day, and there is still medal opportunities on the womens biathlon later today.

The Norwegian curling team also beat Russia today, and is now 2-0.

Todays outfit, which they are going to have a new one for every game:

Great uniform!!! I need some of those pants.

The sprint was fantastic but it was the Gafarov moment in the semi that should remind people what the Olympics are all about.

If I'm not mistaken, you might be able to get THOSE pants. I believe I heard some talk about them auctioning away the pants the play in after each game. Don't know it's true, but I think it was said during the TV broadcast of yesterdays game.

WOW! Shaun White ended up 4th in the half pipe. Not only didn't he manage to defend the gold(s), but he ended up without a medal at all. That was kind of unexpected.

Yeah who would've tought? The fifteen year old Japanese who took cared of the silver medal though, what a boss! :yo:

USA is having an absolutely dismal showing so far. If it wasn't for Kotsenberg and Andersen, it would be down right embarrassing.

Yeah, I was just thinking yesterday about how USA has disappointed so far.

Bode, Celski, and Shaun White are amongst some US athletes that were expected to medal in the events that they have competed in thus far and have failed to do so.

To say that Bode Miller was expected to medal is kind of ridiculous, and frankly a little disrespectful to the competition. You could say he was among the top favorites, but expected? The field of competition among the men is just way to good to expect him to medal. But if you mean that he was expected to medal in one of the alpine events, I can be a little more in agreement, but even that is though considering the margin of error in alpine.

Shaun White on the other hand is a completely different story. He was two time defending gold medalist, in addition to being a dominating force and considered the best rider in the world in the half pipe for a long time.

Celski I have no idea about. I had to search the name on Wikipedia to know who it is, and I have very little knowledge about short track anyway.

Bode led the field after his downhill training runs, so I don't think it's disrespectful at all to say that many Americans were expecting him to medal after that. It was really a benign comment but then again I forgot how many people take things personally on here during the Olympics.

Celski won bronze in the 1500m in Vancouver and is being hyped up as the next Ohno.

I wasn't suggesting that you were disrespectful and i wasn't taking it personally, I just think the idea that anyone in the alpine events are expected to win a single specific race is absurd. Nobody has been so dominating recently that you could expect that from anyone.

Man, the US Curling teams, mens and womens, are TERRIBLE this year. Great Britain put up SEVEN in one round against the women today! That's absurd.

At least Jessica Schultz is decent looking, but come on. Win a game :shakehead

Felt a little bad for Shaun White today, too. If he didn't stumble in that 2nd run he would've medaled for sure.

But in regards to the downhill in Sochi, Miller seemed that good during the practice runs. He was untouchable, by far the best in all 3 (?) practices, and, along with Svindal, was a favorite for the gold medal.

Of course this is never a guarantee, but you'd have gotten very low odds on a medal for both Miller and Svindal. And you'd likely would have gotten really high odds on neither of them taking a medal, which is what happened :)

Watching the USA-Canada game in womens hockey - and I am actually really impressed. Did not know that womens hockey had taken such great strides in the past years.
Without knowing I am guessing they are probably the only two decent teams, but still.

yeah, this is a match with speed and..well.. "quality", for a lack of a better word. I saw (i think it was) USA - Switzerland a day or two ago, and just wanted to lay down and cry, hehe
