OT: 2014 Non-Hockey Olympics Thread

America won in the other snowboarding event! Fudge yeah!

The Swiss won their first gold in CCS. :handclap:

Watching the Ladies 3000 on NBCSN! Lemme guess... a Dutchwoman is going to win and King WA and Queen Maxima are in the crowd again! :naughty:

Update: that Russian chick just blew the roof in the 3000! Maybe Russia will get its first gold before Team Figure Skating today!

if the Dutch still have skaters to go, you can never count them out of Gold in Speed Skating :p:

i really love waking up early and having these things be on tv. excited for tomorrow morning. J.R. Celski races in the Men's 1500 short track.

I spoke too soon... right now it's the Dutch chick (I was right about Will and Maxima being there), the Czech chick who won in 2010, and that Russian chick.

And the final pairing features another Dutchwoman!

Final result:
1. Wust (Netherlands... officially, I'm right)
2. Sablikova (Czech Republic)
3. Graf (Russia... first medal for the Russians)

Now I need to figure out how to hex Plushenko! I know Russia is going to win in TFS but I really don't like him! I'm still traumatized by this:

the internet made the best gifs out of Evgeni Plushenko. that guy is gold. almost literally. i feel you on not liking him, but he's so friggin graceful, as explained in the gif above :laugh: really liked his song choice for his first skate these Olympics
 
These scores are definitely being fixed. There is no way that 5 year old Russian girl was better than Gold. Putin is fixing this Olympics.

Notice that Putin walked in just in time for Julia's performance.

At least the Russians can't beat the Canadians or Americans in ice dance.

Sometimes I wonder if Plushenko is Putin in disguise!
 
Man, It really bothers me that Canada team colors don't represent the flag. I really don't know why it gets me so much. Japan's hockey team has black too.
 
I am sorry to disappoint you but the Russian figure skating school is the best in the world and they proved it at the team event completions.
