I don't think Buffalo will pass up Barbashev.
So, who else would Jarmo be targeting?
We gotta start working on getting more blue liners in the pipeline.

BPA, BPA, BPA, BPA, BPA, BPA. I would be very surprised if Jarmo went for a Dman who wasn't BPA in a round as early as the 2nd. If they're the BPA, go for it. Drafting D just for the sake of drafting D can be addressed after the 3rd round IMO.We gotta start working on getting more blue liners in the pipeline.

Reilly, Forsberg, DanskWennberg, Milano, Rychel, Dano, Bjorkstrand, Anderson, Zaar, Chaput, Tynan, Hjalmarsson.. adding Barbashev would be great, but honestly.. we still are pretty stacked with prospects even if we don't get him. I would absolutely love to add him though. Here's to hoping we can trade up and nab him!
The Blue Jackets tried to move up in the draft order, GM Jarmo Kekalainen said.
Once they drafted Milano, Kekalainen said he contacted every team with a pick remaining in the first round. He wouldn't say which player they were persuing, but - if you believe some of the draft floor whispers -- it was Finnish forward Kasperi Kapanen.
It's possible -- likely, even -- that Kekalainen's desire to get back into the first round was crippled by his lack of a second second-round pick. The Blue Jackets thought they'd have the No. 37 overall from Anaheim, but the Ducks decided to keep it. Thus, the Blue Jackets have only the No. 45.
Oh yeah, I was just listing forwards because they mentioned adding Barbashev.Reilly, Forsberg, Dansk
Portzline is 0-for-2 in that snippet. Anaheim has the #38 and we have the #47.

Columbus also has #60 from Los Angeles.

No, we have the 63rd pick as the 3rd round pick from the Gaborik deal. It's the pick they acquired from Edmonton for Ben Scrivens. 90th belongs to LAK, still. No we don't. We have TOR's 2nd next year from LA, and 90 from LA

Sabres GM Tim Murray on trade talk: "I offered three seconds to seven teams for one first." He found no takers.
Here are some guys I am interested in for our 2nd round pick.
Jack Dougherty
Brycen Martin
Roland McKeown
Eric Cornel
Ryan MacInnis
I doubt Dougherty and McKeown are still there at 47(but it would be nice). If we trade up somehow, Barbashev and Dominik Macin would also be attractive.
