Ehrhoff, Letang, and noobsWhat an absolute ghetto lineup that the Pens are throwing at us tomorrow. Glad I didn't pick that as one of my preseason games, lol
Ehrhoff, Letang, and noobs
One of my friends is an agent int he company that represents Cam. I have been told that Cam understood that he wore down last year and that he needed to take a different approach to conditioning this offseason. Indeed, he his agent told him he had to buckle up and get stronger if he wanted his career to continue. Sounds like he was off to a fast start in his first preseason game. It will be interesting to see if his new off season program keeps him stronger thru out the season and avoids those prolonged slumps which he had last year where he looked so tired.
That suggests a whole different context to the idea of stretching exercises.
He looks bigger, stronger this year. Not noticeably taller, though.

dat contract yearMy particular theory of Cam's last two years is similar: he starts the year with explosive speed and gradually slows down as he gets worn out and the summer training wears off. Maybe he's changed something in his training to give him more longevity (as his agent recommended), but we won't know until later in the year if it works. I'm certain he'll be playing high octane hockey this fall, regardless.

if he can stay healthy! would love to see Calvert sniff 40 points and Cam sniff upper 20s in goals, but I've gotta temper my expectationsThat means Calvert should be paying better than normal as well!
Pretty sure season ticket holders in Vancouver still pays regular price. I would assume you could buy tickets off scalpers/craig's list for less then ticket value though.I wonder how other teams around the league sell preseason games. Do STH get a discount or some other benefit?

I asked my Rep about the rip-off prices season ticket holders have to pay for pre-season games, and he said that they have to follow NHL guidelines. Whether that was a cop-out or the truth, I don't know, but that is what I was told.
Be that as it may, the bigger thing that pisses me off is that they make you buy all of them if you buy full season tickets. That's showing gratitude to people that spend their hard earned money on you.
Like the NFL has talked about doing, I think the NHL should convert a few of those pre-season games to regular season games, and shorten the pre-season. Trust me, that would make everyone happy, including the players.
I think 82 games is plenty. What I wonder about is starting to play games 2 days after camp opens. I know guys are supposed to come in in good shape but still it seems that is too quick. To me a bit longer camp and one or two fewer exhibition games would be better but a chance to gouge the paying customer for an extra mill or two is just too good to pass up.

Upper bowl seats were going for $3 on Stubhub.
