How do folks feel about the idea of having 4 rookie forwards in the lineup?

I'm a little bit nervous about it.

Very excited. Although I am not sure if Rychel will get much playing time. I thought Chaput started off his 17 game stint with some fire last year and then faded a little bit. Pretty surprising that he just ended up with one point. Chaput has dominated the preseason - not much differently than Jenner did last season. But I think we could see them all hit the wall at the beginning of the season until they catch up to the speed of the game. I would expect some growing pains, and some flashes of brilliance.

Interesting that coach keeps going back to Hartnell-Anisimov-Dano. Last year it was Jenner-Dubinsky-Gaborik. Which lasted all of one period before Jenner got bumped to the fourth line. I think ultimately, the team will fall back on its veterans. I think that Calvert, in particular is poised to see a bigger role than we've seen him in to this point.

Very excited. Sure, there will be mistakes, but they are the best options so they should be playing. Excited to see how our future (and maybe present) plays.

Put me in the excited group as well. They might be four rookies but its not like the CBJ are tossing in 4 guys straight out of juniors here. KHL, Swedish league, some AHL, and some NHL experience involved.

since this convo is more worthwhile...

I don't mind it, as much...not to say i'm not worried, but...once Joey is signed, and Boone is back, two of them will be in Springy...so a bit of trial by fire and then will be settled pretty quickly...

I think with a normal rate of injuries another guy will be injured by the time Boone is back. I'd hope we can add a more established top 9 guy as some insurance.

Skille is a pure RW, I think.

I'd go:

Calvert- Dubi - Cam
Hartnell - Arty - Dano
Foligno - Letestu - Skille
Gibbons - Chaput - Tropp
D'Amigo/Boll

Jenner Johansen Horton
Hartnell Anisimov Foligno
Calvert Dubinsky Atkinson
? Letestu ?

way too many options for the 4th line wings with a completely healthy roster

Sadly I don't think there's much point in projecting a roster with Horton, I doubt he makes it back for a looong time.

For October:

Calvert-Dubinsky-Atkinson
Hartnell-Anisimov-Dano/Skille
Foligno-Letestu-Wennberg
Tropp-Chaput - Dano/Skille

I have Dano and Skille splitting time because I think the club likes the way Dano has been playing, but he's going to have a hard time going from the 4th line in the KHL to the 2nd line in the NHL. I think he'll run out of steam.

For November:

Jenner-Johansen-Foligno
Hartnell-Anisimov-Wennberg
Calvert-Dubinsky-Atkinson
Gibbons-Letestu-Skille

What I'd actually do:

Foligno-Johansen-Atkinson
Hartnell-Anisimov-Wennberg
Calvert-Dubinsky-Jenner
Gibbons-Letestu-Skille

Hartnell - Dubinsky - Atkinson
Foligno - Anisimov - Wennberg
Calvert - Letestu - Skille
? - Chaput - Tropp
Boll and ?

This is the best I can do. The third line is no place for a rookie trying to learn the system. Rychel could start off on our 4th line until Jenner comes back. It's a shame he didn't have a better camp. I like Dano a lot, but if he's not getting top six minutes here, he needs to be getting them somewhere (Springfield).

I find it hard to believe that Wennberg is ahead of Dano at this point. We will have to see.

I'm kind of surprised none of the kids changed their numbers. For instance, Wennberg usually is #10 and that number is open.
