1Interesting to note When camp breaks the #CBJ might have all 4 pieces of the Nash trade with #NYRangers in their lineup Dubinsky Anisimov

2 Erixon and Rychel. Rychel has had. Good Camp and is getting a long look

Forgot Kerby was who we took with that pick. That would make that trade look even better than it already does.

Wouldn't mind those lines. Think the staff likes the Anisimov and Dano together. If Wennberg struggles on faceoffs, maybe switch in Letestu to the 3rd pivot. No D'Amigo anywhere? No Gibbons? Injured or on their way to Springfield?

I guess...do you prefer Dano/Wennberg/Rychel in the lineup or do you want Gibbons/Hjalmarsson/Tropp? Who knows at this point - but I think the first rounders give you a touch more skill and it may be worth some rookie growing pains over the other guys for now, given that the first line is all out.

Basically once Dansk goes to Springy with St. Denis, the team will need to make 5 roster cuts, 6 if Johansen signs. That's assuming they go with 8 D since Murray isn't 100%. If I have my math right (and I probably don't)...cut four of:
Dana Tyrell, Alexander Wennberg, Kerby Rychel, Simon Hjalmarsson, Marko Dano, Jerry D'Amigo, Brian Gibbons

This is assuming Chaput, Boll, and Tropp are locks (though I personally think Tropp on the same line with Boll would not be great).

That would lock in 10 healthy (and signed) forwards, with space for 3 more if they carry 8 D. So from that list above - pick 3 basically.

I honestly don't think Tropp is a lock for this roster. In my view he doesn't really bring much to the table that we couldn't get out of Rychel. Tropp, to me, just has not looked that good this PS. But, as seeing I'm not making decisions, who knows?

He's a lock.

D'Amigo is probably the last forward out. It all depends how they handled the '13 First Round picks. All 3 have made fairly convincing cases to start with the Jackets, but will the team want them playing 3rd/4th line minutes?

Of course, if Johansen signs before Oct. 9th, everything changes.

Is Wennberg starting in the NHL for you guys this year? If so, in what role?

Judging by comments I read tonight from Todd Richards, it sounds like he thinks Wennberg is ready for the NHL. I think the question is where he fits best. He was spending time at wing today after being at center for camp so far.

It certainly sounds like he'll probably make the team. They are just trying to find where he fits best.

His comments also tell me Chaput is going to be the 4th line center.

Isn't it fair to say that there are quite a few Europeans that don't enjoy it, sulk and then leave ?

NOW LEMME TELL YA SOMETHING RIGHT HERE. BACK WHEN I GOT AN EXPANSION TEAM IN THE OHL RIGHT IN MY HOMETOWN OF MISSISSAUGA, I SWORE WE WOULDN'T HAVE ANY EUROS TAKING SPOTS FROM GOOD OL' CANADIAN BOYS. WE WEREN'T WINNING SO I TOOK OVER BEHIND THE BENCH. AND THE OHL SAID WE HAD TO HAVE EURO PLAYERS, SO WE HAD IGOR RADULOV.

ANYWAY, IGOR WAS TOO BUSY LOOKING FOR BRAINS SINCE HE LEFT HIS IN MOSCOW. SO HE'D FLOAT AROUND IN A VERY RUSSIAN MANNER. ONE TIME HE HAD THE PUCK AND WENT INTO THE CORNER WITH SCOTT FLETCHER, AND FLETCHER CAME OUT WITH THE PUCK AND RADULOV WAS CURLED UP IN THE FETAL POSITION AND ROCKING BACK AND FORTH. NOW YOU'RE PROBABLY SAYING "GRAPES, I REMEMBER FLETCHER, AND HE WAS ONLY 13 YEARS OLD WHEN RADULOV WAS IN MISSISSAUGA." YEAH, HE WAS. AND HE WAS ONLY 4'5" AT THE TIME BECAUSE HE WAS A LATE BLOOMER. SOMETIMES YOU'LL GET GUYS LIKE THAT, BUT I HAD STAN JONATHAN IN BOSTON AND HE NEVER DID GET ANY TALLER. ONE TIME STAN TRIED TO PUNCH DAVE SCHULTZ IN THE JAW. SCHULTZIE WAS ONLY 6'1", AND JONATHAN CAUGHT HIM FLUSH RIGHT IN THE KNEE. SCHULTZIE WAS NEVER THE SAME AFTER THAT. HE MESSED WITH THE LUNCHPAIL AC AND THAT WAS THAT.

ANYWAY, SO WE ONLY WON 11 GAMES WITH SERGEI RADIKOV OUT THERE. THEN CHICAGO WANTED HIM FOR SOME REASON AND THEY DIDN'T WIN WHEN HE WAS THERE, SO HE WENT BACK TO RUSSIALAND WHERE HE WAS FROM. BUT WE GOT RID OF HIM AND SUDDENLY WE WENT FROM 11 WINS TO 23. ALL BECAUSE RAMADAMANOV WENT AWAY. SAME THING HAPPENED IN COLORADO WHEN HARDY ASTROM LEFT. IF HE'D LEFT EARLIER, I MIGHT STILL BE COACHING THERE.[/cherrymode]

I don't think anyone is paying attention to Tropp. You know what you're going to get out of that guy when it counts. Solid 4th liner, good at keeping the cycle going.

Based on injuries and who is left. Its a pretty safe bet he'll be in the lineup opening night. I think Rychel end up being the odd man out with Dano and Wennberg both playing opening night. Not with any line pairings, I see the following staying:

Hartnell, Anisimov, Wennberg, Atkinson, Calvert, Dubinsky, Letestu, Foligno, Dano, Tropp, Chaput, Boll with Gibbons and D'Amigo the extra forwards.

Rychel ends up being the odd man out simply because he needs to play and not ride the bench.

When Johansen finally signs and Jenner gets healthy, it will be the tough choice for who goes down.
I may be wrong but I think just about every one of the spare forwards will have to go through waivers with the exception of the rookies. If D'Amigo and Gibbons do their jobs, then its easier to demote the young kids versus risking losing them to waivers unless they think they'll go through without being claimed at the time.
I don't see Horton playing at all any time soon so I'm not even considering his roster spot.

He's a good skater. That's it. Decent on the cycle because of his speed and he'll throw the body around often but most of his checks are pretty much pointless. Boll is a better at everything other than speed. I'd rather have a handful of these guys over Tropp.

You've got 14 F's leaving room for only 7 D. Going to come down to if they want to keep Golobuef or an extra F. Could be decided on who is less likely to be claimed which I guess would be one of the forwards. Could also be decided by Murray's status, at least temporarily. But who knows?

I think you're right- Rychel goes (and probably would benefit from lots of time in Springfield). As to who goes when Jenner and hopefully Joey return I think the performances between opening night and then will make the decision easier.
