Isn't that more of a move to guard against offer sheets?

Never mind. They changed the rule on that.

I think it's because COL is unlikely to pay him the arbitrator's award, which would indicate a high likelihood of trading him?

Why is COL having such a hard time managing this guy? Does he just want to get a huge payday and they want no part of it? 2 straight years of gritty contract dispute between him and COL can't be good for the overall relationship..

There is about 3 Rangers, I wouldn't move for ROR.. 2 of them are Lundqvist and mcdonagh.. I'm iffy on Kreider... everyone else, would be fair game

Stepan's a no go for ROR. The idea is to pair them together. Moving one for the other does very little for our center depth.

Yeah that would be pretty pointless to include Steps in a potential deal for ROR. Center depth is going to be pretty important for this team next season.

Lol... no offense at all... but people keep putting Kristo in proposals... Kristo now has about as much value as a used jockstrap, and probably won't be in the organization much longer...

I agree it doesn't help the depth, but it gets a very good center.. perhaps Brassard can become the #2?.. is there anyone on the FA market that we could sign for a #2?.. I'd love to move Staal + for him though.

Miller and not Hagelin and add a prospect or pick as well from us.

I'd do it. ROR is the only center I've heard that could be available that I'd move Miller for. He's worth it.

Though, I feel like Colorado might bite on Staal/Brassard, and it'd be beneficial to our salary structure to make that move instead. But if they insist on Miller, you have to do it.

I'd go Staal, Miller, and a second rounder.

Man this offseason is going to be huge. So many things could put us over the top or push us completely out of contention.

I am dreading:
Losing Stralman
Losing Boyle
Extending Staal
Picking up aging veterans like Thornton, Spezza, Dan Boyle, etc
Giving Brassard more than two or three years

I am hoping against hope that we:
Land ROR without giving up Stepan, Kreider, or major prospects (obviously McDonagh's untouchable)
Find space for Stralman and BB
Lock up Zucc for four or five years

Have there been any reports linking the Rangers to ROR yet? I really hope they push to make this happen.

Disagree with that. ROR is an upgrade over Stepan. ROR-Brassard-Miller > Stepan-Brassard-Miller.

It's an upgrade, but it's an incremental one. ROR-Brassard-Miller still gets thoroughly outclassed by teams like the Kings. ROR-Stepan-Brassard would be a massive, massive step up.

How many would move Kreider for him since we have a lot of wingers and Center is a glaring need?.. You basically get the same points (Kreider will probably be a 25-25 guy) but a more important position.

I would definitely prefer not to. One of a handful that I would hate having to move.
