So when is the earliest Richards can be bought out?

I need to know when to plan the party I will be having.

I'd give Zucc 4 years at $3.7. Fair deal and term for both the team and player.

Also I'd seriously look into trading JMoore for Colin Wilson... or a Colin Greening. RH Shooting centers that can also play the wing, bring some size and girth into the line up in the 3rd line role.

61-21-26
20-16-36
62-28-12
10-22-Wilson

I really don't think you get him for 3.7 Consider Palat just got 3-10 for a similar season and he is much further from UFA

Sign that Gaborik guy, he's pretty good come playoffs:

Kreider - Stepan - Nash
St. Louis - Miller - Gaborik
Pouliot - Brassard - Zucc
Boyle - Moore - Dorsett

McDonagh - Girardi
Staal - Klein
Moore - McIlrath

I know it's unrealistic, and I know it's not happening, but nothing would make me happier than trading both Girardi and Nash this offseason.

Nash put in all the effort, but quite frankly, his game just isn't suited for the postseason. I'm not bitter towards him in a "he didn't try" sense, but it just is what it is.

Girardi NEVER steps up his game in the playoffs. He was also responsible for the game 6 OT loss against NJ two years ago.

I do NOT want to lose Stralsy because we decided to give G a ton of money.

Girardi has the ability to block any trade. Management made a really dumb decision extending him and now we have to live with it for the next six years.

i have a question...

Why do people want ROR if he plays behind stastny in Col why not get Stastny. He is better then Step slightly yes but better and that will instantly make our C depth stronger. if Miller progresses to what he is projected a 2/3 tweener we can trade brass to recoup assets and cap.

Honestly though the 1st question that needs to be answered is Slats. Does he become just the pres and give the gm dutys to Gorton? I hope this happens cause the work that Gorton did in boston in his short term was Redonk.

then Richards then decide who we are gonna resign/walk.

Fact of the matter is this team does have some changes coming and the window is open now but i think its open for a while with the core we have. the only really old dude we got is MSL. The window is open until hank retires.

People want ROR because he's young, big, and versatile. He's got even more upside to his game. I'd rather have him than Stastny.

After calming down, I've accepted that G will be a Ranger until his contract expires, which is fine by me. McDonagh is developing a lot of offense, so G can remain as the stay at home presence on that line. A lot of the frustration from G comes from his PP time and his misuse (as Boyle's hatred evolved from a couple of years ago). A proper OFD will relieve G of those duties.

There is still 0 chance I want to let Stralman go, though. A right side of Girardi, Stralman, and McIlrath/Klein (with Klein likely getting moved or playing the other side whenever McI is ready) is our future.

I have 0 problem with trading Staal. I was against it before, but the fact of the matter is that we need an offensive defenseman on that second pairing with Stralman.

Next year's roster, IMO (maybe moreso what I hope for than what I think):

Hagelin-Stepan-Nash
Kreider-Miller-MSL
Pouliot-Brass-Zucc
Boyle-Moore-Carcillo/Dorsett

McDonagh-Girardi
xx-Stralman
Moore-Klein

If we could trade Nash for any sort of value, I would. Zucc, MSL, and Fast/Kristo/Miller (if we acquire a center) is still great RW depth for the top 9. Our biggest needs are a #1 center (still), and a top-4 OFD that can also run the PP. Extra credit for the center being right-handed.

I hear the Panthers' new owner is a former Ranger fan. Perhaps a Staal+Nash for Barkov trade is in order :sarcasm:

Realistically though, if we could get a budding top-4 OFD or top-6 center with speed, I have absolutely zero issue giving up Staal or Nash, despite the risk that the young player might not pan out how we hope.

Brad Richards, Bye.

If you think Sather is going to allow J.T. Miller to center the second line next season you're out of your mind. He just tasted what it was like to be in the finals again for the first time in 24 years and he will want to get back to the finals as soon as possible. He's already traded away our next two 1st round picks. He has one goal and will do everything he can to accomplish it.

Sather will be very, very busy this offseason.

The problem with this setup is there is absolutely zero offense from the right side of the defense.

As long as the right moves are made, I have no problem with it.
