Thanks for the jersey # info! Very helpful. What about Hanifin though?!! Anyone have his number? We are currently sitting in third place, after all :).

I also think they would've drafted Dal Colle. The few times TM took the discussion outside the Big Four, he talked about MDC and how he was the top shooter in the draft. He also fits their "bigger" mold that Tim seemingly wants to build. It certainly could've led to some "Did we screw up by drafting Dal Colle over Ehlers threads" though.

Agreed. In any case, hindsight is 20/20. MDC was ranked higher than Ehlers in mocks/rankings, I doubt we would have "reached". It's not anything the sabres could control, anyway.

I don't remember a specific debate about Ehlers...just a range of possible targets vs. whatever we get in 2015. Regardless, this board can find something wrong with just about anything

I think he was suggesting that McDavid is going 2nd overall. Because we're presently 28th (3rd overall), we'd get either the #1--which Stokes is saying is Eichel--or #3, presumably Hanifin.

He always loves to back the underdog...lol, as good as Eichel is, there isn't 1 GM in the NHL who selects him over McDavid if they get the 1st pick.

Eichel may be rated higher then McDavid after the WJR, but McDavid will be the concencus No. 1 pick on draft day. Let's remember USA's powerplay runs through Jack Eichel, he basically has the reins to do whatever he wants, McDavid is just another player top player on Canada.

Players on lower level teams (basically anyone besides canada, and maybe usa) usually tend to dominate more in this tournament because they are the "guy" on there team. Guys like Ehlers, Nylander, and Pastrnak will shine but if they were on a team like Canada they wouldn't have the same free reigns.

If you're taking McDavid over Eichel, you obviously have your head lodged up your a$$, or you're the GM of the Oilers.

Are people on here serious? They think after a couple round robin games Eichel has run away with the #1 spot? My goodness

It's the typical flavor of the month syndrome.

no it's not. seeing is believing. one of them (unless you're blind and can't see) is obviously better than the other. are you watching the games???

Eichel's mechanics, speed, vision, passing, skating, shooting, offense, defense.....you name it - all appear to be better than McDavid's. Period. Just my opinion btw, i'm not part of any Eichel-coalition or anything! heh

Even if it were true that Eichel is better, you don't draft based on which player is currently better

McDavid's skating and stickhandling are both better easily. Eichel I'd give better shooting.
