tsn panel just dropped this stat in the 1st intermission of the van/nyr game..

schneider has let in 1 goal in the last 80 shots in 10 periods of pre season hockey.. save % of 988.

yea, because he isn't one of if not the best goalies in the league - as i told you all the day of the trade!

giving brodeur anything more than backup minutes will be a travesty, cory isn't a young pup and it is his time.

You're acting like no one here thought that way except you.

You want a cookie?

only saw about 2 periods but philly looked pretty poor

larsson looked pretty quickat times and has a very nice deflectable shot. If he can keep his decision-making and foot speed at a high level, he will be in store for a good year.

schneider was obviously good when called upon

umm it's preseason thats all i want to type =/

I actually thought he looked noticeably slow in this game compared to the other preseason games he's played. I mentioned it a few times during the game.

It would actually remind me of Rutgers. ;)

I've been graduated since 2009, so I'm not sure they still use it or not after TDs.

I love the idea that on the day soon when our hall of fame goalie retires he is to be replaced by another future hall of fame goalie

maybe later in the 2nd/3rd but he was good and "on his toes" for sure for the first 15 minutes or so. Can't comment much on the rest of pre-season but it was a lot more mobile than last year. Was able to stay with guys going outside and kept his stick between anyone and the net on those plays

He's looked great this preseason for sure. I do remember a particular play early in this game, though, where he got coned by Schenn.

I don't think he really needs great speed though. He's so smart on the ice that he can make up for it. It's just that when he has a mental lapse his lack of footspeed is exaggerated.

Brodeur was a product of the system. Yet we're doomed without him. Da hell?!

BTW, not aiming this at you. Just repeating what we've been told for years.

i was speaking in general lol - days and weeks after the trade i'd say 60% of this board still believed broduer as the #1... i'd say 30% to this day still do.

I don't even think 30% of people here still think Brodeur should be the starter. It's been a tough day for Marty so I won't get into that again.

I don't care who plays more games (and I see that being Corey in most potential iterations of the season), Marty is always the #1.

#30 in our playbooks, #1 in our hearts

Maybe #2 in the depth chart now

id love something like Chelsea Dagger though, that gets the crowd singing along like with Chicago

Not that Chelsea Dagger is an option but I think Schneider would request a trade if they picked that for the goal song. I know what you mean though. That song The Whip that Toronto uses is a good one like that.

I'm glad so many posted positive remarks about the game because I caught only the third period and they didn't look to good, neither did Flyers. I saw some very slopy play by both teams and another shorted goal against the Devs. Something I hope they really try to work on and stop that bad habit. However, I guess leading 3-0, can make a team ease off the gas.

I can't believe the league actually scheduled a preseason game between the Rangers and Canucks. Travel that far for an exhibition game just because of the coaching switch?

Really?

LAME DRAMA GRAB.

The Rangers start on the west coast.

Just finished reading through some of the comments from last night...So I take it Josefson had another good game?

I really hope and pray that this is the season he can put it together.

Clowe - Zajac - Brunner
Zubrus - Elias - Jagr
Josefson - Henrique - Ryder
Olesz - Loki - Bernier

That's my preferred lineup. The top 3 are interchangeable and the 4th line is not a big drop-off. Keep Carter and Ted as your spares.
