Oh well... I still think games like this (and the end of that Bruins game) really show that the Rags are just missing something this year. Just getting the puck through to the net against them last year seemed like winning the lottery. They don't have that "to the death!" quality now. Good enough to make the playoffs, but just another team, really.

It was kicked loose then was banged in with his stick.

Seems kind of silly though. You're not allowed to kick pucks in for safety reasons.

You are, however, allowed to kick pucks out from under the goalies glove as long as you swing your stick at puck afterwards.

He took a swing at it, but the goalie and the forwards stick hit, I'm not sure Hagelin ever touched it again. Watched the 2 replays that you can see his stick, I don't think you can definitely say if the stick did or did not play the puck again after the kick. The puck's momentum doesn't really change so I'd say he didn't get a piece of the puck.

They lost Dubinsky, Anisimov, Fedotenko, Prust, Rupp and Mitchell.

They added Nash, Halpern, Pyatt, Powe, Miller, and Kreider.

Not only did they swap out half of their forwards, but they're asking kids to take on a huge role, and downgraded the depth tremendously. Nash is great, but the team is totally different from last year.

I agree It's a bad rule. Someone can kick the puck off a goalie and in and it counts.

That's all true. I think they really overplayed for the star power of Nash. Aside from that, I don't think the relentless "go 110% on every shift, block every shot or die trying" system and negative/humiliating Torts "motivational" style are really sustainable forever. They were shot by the time we got done with them, and I don't think it was ever really going to be the same after that.

I can appreciate shot blocking, but I am completely surprised that how the Rangers have remained healthy with the amount they block.

I cringe every time I watch Callahan block shots. He is so reckless with his body on shot blocking which is what makes him so incredible at it. That being said, I've seen way too many players lose eyes doing it.

With the padding nowadays (see: KEVLAR shin pads and socks), there's not much danger in blocking a shot if you block it correctly. When you block it in with your face, you're in trouble.

What is Hagelin doing that Tedenby is not? Similar size and speed but Tedenby is missing something Hagelin is doing.
