I'd actually argue that Ranger goal was a kick.
It was kicked loose then was banged in with his stick.

Oh well... I still think games like this (and the end of that Bruins game) really show that the Rags are just missing something this year. Just getting the puck through to the net against them last year seemed like winning the lottery. They don't have that "to the death!" quality now. Good enough to make the playoffs, but just another team, really.
Seems kind of silly though. You're not allowed to kick pucks in for safety reasons.
You are, however, allowed to kick pucks out from under the goalies glove as long as you swing your stick at puck afterwards.
They lost Dubinsky, Anisimov, Fedotenko, Prust, Rupp and Mitchell.
They added Nash, Halpern, Pyatt, Powe, Miller, and Kreider.
Not only did they swap out half of their forwards, but they're asking kids to take on a huge role, and downgraded the depth tremendously. Nash is great, but the team is totally different from last year.

I can appreciate shot blocking, but I am completely surprised that how the Rangers have remained healthy with the amount they block.
I cringe every time I watch Callahan block shots. He is so reckless with his body on shot blocking which is what makes him so incredible at it. That being said, I've seen way too many players lose eyes doing it.
Pyatt was an islander?
