I know this doesn't matter, but i can't understand why we chose to offer Corvo a 1-way for 7th D instead of Andre Benoit, IMO Benoit >> Corvo,

Andre benoit is a really good optionth D

I thought Andre Benoit was signed to a team out west?

Uhh first of all Corvo isn't a 7th D... Second he's unquestionably better than Benoit.

MusicTeacher, yup Colorado signed him.

I'd wager Benoit was given an opportunity to grab a larger role in Colorado with their D being a mess. Them's the breaks. Hope he can capitalize. I'm OK with Corvo (who is better on the PP for sure) and the kids going into the season if that's how it has to be.

yes
Benoit has more heart and is better defensively but Corvo is much better offensively and a better skater.

Corvo and Karlsson could be the most lethal pair in the league. Karlsson dishes and Corvo lasers them. If they blocking Corvo's shot, Karlsson lasers it himself.

Did you miss Corvo's first stint in Ottawa? His laser usually finds the glass behind the net.

This doesn't weigh the quality of the chance. There are rushed and bad angle shots were one expects to probably miss the net.... vs. Corvo's speciality, which was missing the net when given time and space. Again, I am referring to the time I actually watched him play for Ottawa, not last year.

If Corvo missed the net like you say he did, with plenty of time to shoot, one would also expect him to miss the net more often under pressure, which would lead to a higher overall missed shot % and not the same miss percentage as other defensmen

Was looking at teams payrolls... After the jets re-sign there guys... Sens will be second lowest in the league only ahead of the Islanders

Or maybe he didn't get shots off under pressure. Either show me stats that mean something, or I will continue to rely on my first-hand account of his play.

He's not a good defenseman. His ridiculous physical skills keep him in the NHL. He's like Christoph Schubert.

That being said, it's still a decent signing by Murray.

Those stats are meaningful compared to first hand accounts. There are first hand accounts from people who drank their own urine and say their cancer was cured lol. Just saying its anecdotal evidence which is subject to confirmation bias etc.

We need to resign Cowen and Wiercioch. Its 3-5 million, so we rise few places. And we have 2 month to spend some more, if EM decides to.

Welcome to the Boys Club, aka Hockey Canada.

True.

The Crosby and Stamkos snubs were pretty brutal. Obviously the Stamkos one didn't cost them, but despite his age, I don't see how Stamkos couldn't have made the team.

I also remember when Dan Cleary got invited to the summer camp and Spezza didn't
