Blackhawks boss Rocky Wirtz. These quotes were printed last Monday.

http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/...eagues-and-Governing-Bodies/NHL-notebook.aspx

This is what Stan Bowman said

http://blackhawks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=674821

Then you have Walsh tweets. He is getting his info from the NHL executives. Look at what Wirtz and Jacobs said. Jacobs is the ultimate hardliner and he is discussing a substantial increase. Bowman said. Revenue was $3.3B in 11-12. $3.28B exactly. Add $1B.

But RB, the underlined said " According to sources at the team and league levels, NHL executives informed the league’s audit and finance committee at a meeting on June 10 that the league projects bringing in an additional $1 billion of cumulative revenue over the next three seasons.

Cumulative over the next three.

That sounds like if it stayed the same, we'd have 3.28*3 over the next three, or 9.84. The 1 billion cumulative extra makes it 10.84. That sounds like an increase of ~167 million each year. ie.
3.28+.167= 3.447 the 1st year
3.447+.167= 3.614 the 2nd year
3.614+.167= 3.781 the 3rd year.

Those 3 together make up 10.84 billion. An increase of 1 billion each year sounds quite ludicrous - that's like a 33% growth/year.

3.781 billion by the third year would mean a cap of around 71 million by then.

Carcillo wouldnt be a bad 4th line LW to have. Especially with Dorsett on the other side. That would cause havok. Maybe throw Lapierre in the middle.

Hagelin Richards Nash
Kreider Stepan MZA
Miller Brassard Callahan
Carcillo Lapierre Dorsett

I can dig it.

If they are going after someone like that, I would rather Nystrom or McLeod.

 that 4th line would sure be entertaining to watch.

So in other words the whole lockout was just so the cap would be lowered this season? If we will be right back to 70m next year?

Yeah, we'd be on the PK the whole game, on reps alone. Boyle shouldn't be left out, he's our best face-off man. What's with the recent Lapierre fetish?

He is one of AV's guys, just speculation that Sather may shed salary with Boyle since he is not worth almost 2mil, Lapierre could get for 1.5 at most.

And yes, that 4th line would be nothing other than entertainment. If they take stupid penalties every once and a while, while doing their job by pissing off the opponent, I'm okay with that.

AV coached him throughout his youth and knew him for over 10 years.. if AV has some say in his first year as Rangers coach, dont be shocked if Lapierre is signed on friday.. Lapierre also brings something NYR needs, speed and forchecking ability...

Carcillo Lapierre and Dorsett would be fun to watch. imagine that line vs the Kovalchuk line.. id love to see that battle.. Kovalchuk went nuts after Avery after Avery yaps away, imagine what would happen with Carcillo Lapierre or Dorsett yapping away

Car-Lap-Dors would be a freaking nightmare to play against

Seems like most are on board with a 4th line of:

Carcillo-Lapierre-Dorsett

I'll give Sather a call.

Weren't the players willing to go 50/50 almost immediately?

Almost yes. Then there was Daly with his hill they would die on with contracts. But the contract rules aren't even that strict. Oh well, they're all swimming in money anyway.

Carcillo sucks. He's been broken down by several injuries over the past few years. Pyatt is better than him.

People are dreaming if they think Lapierre will sign for two years, $1.5M. He will almost assuredly get a four year deal worth around what Boyle is getting.

Boyle > Lapierre. He hasn't broken 20 points since 2009, and he's going to get overpaid this summer.

IF the Rangers are going to move Boyle and replace him, I'd much rather sign Boyd Gordon. He's one of the best defensive bottom-6 players in the NHL, and a far, far better player than Lapierre.

Who said it was $1B each year? You had the same issue with this last week.

What is the salary cap formula?

Stan Bowman is discussing a $75M cap for 14-15 and you're discussing a $71M by the end of the 3rd year.

Forum math says this is wrong

Everyone not on the rangers > everyone on the rangers

This place likes making trades just because they can say they made a trade.

why Carcillo, Matt Cooke is a UFA......shoot me! :help:

for crying out loud just play Asham at 1 million on the 4th line. Lapierre I like to go with Dorsett. Boyle has to be dealt if Lapierre is in though and I want him at 1.5 or less
