sign Colby Armstrong, Maxim Lapierre and Mayson Raymond and trade Powe Newbury and Boyle and on defense sign Marc Fristic.

You never answered me before, what would be the point in signing Lapierre and trading Boyle?

Going to assume it's cause he played for AV before. I understand if that's his point but the Rangers tried that with Torts and it didn't work out so great.

I personally am more excited for training camp/prospect camp/preseason than the draft and free agency

adds a lot more speed to the lineup.. Av coached Lapierre for 10 years.. he is more physical.. is better on the forcheck... gets the other team to take penalties at times..

he is also good in the shootout... big upgrade

Lapierre more physical than Boyle? Right I forgot none of Boyle's hits count because he's big.

I don't know why we knock Boyle. Decent Pker, very good player on the boards. He has a really irrelevant year, but let's be fair; he shouldn't be counted on for consistent offense. But hell, even taking all that into account, he still was just about the only guy on the power play that threw other teams defenses off once Cally got hurt.

He's a good player.

I think because Boyle had a 21 goal season people expect that on a yearly basis and completely ignore everything else he can bring to the table.

Dessert? Does he bring dessert to the table? I want some.

Boyle is fine, and far from our biggest issue. He's also played very well in the post season the last two years. But because our old coach used him too much towards the end of games and in other random situations he definitely needs to be traded.

My favorite Boyle moment was when he caused a turnover that ruined a Hank shutout. Priceless HFNYR lynch mob moment.

I want him to stay

Lapierre's salary was a 1M, say he gets a 20% raise, you just saved 500K in capspace, plus gained whatever Boyle returns in assets.
Not advocating it but that's the breakdown.

thats why reason to do this.. if someone offers a 2ed and prospect that has a chance to actually make the NHL for Boyle you do it... Boyle and Powe has to go. they make too much for what they bring to the Rangers.. 1.4 for Powe for 0 pts in 34 games  heck Newbury and Ferriero had more points on the Rangers

Absolutely. Unless we get some ludicrous offer for him, there's no reason to trade him. He is a solid player and his salary is OK. What we want is a coach that doesn't rely on him creating offense in the dying minutes of a game. Hopefully we got him in AV and his general approach (defensively adept players for defensive draws, offensively adept players for offensive draws) seems to cater to that.

Surprisingly quiet. I'm hoping we see some trades go down tomorrow.

I'm sure tomorrow is the big day. Might as well finalize everything today and announce it tomorrow when the hockey world is paying attention.

If Lapierre gets only $1.2 million, I'll change my username to LittleKidLover15

$1.4M? You sure round up strangely.

Only guys I'm interested in signing are Raymond, Lapiere, and Nystrom. Two of the three. Revamp the bottom six. Keep Boyle, Dorsett, Asham, and Hagelin there. Add two of those guys and we will have a pretty solid bottom 6.

He'll prob be ok this year now that we won't have Torts playing him randomly in top 6 roles and on the powerplay.

revamp the bottom 6!.. I believe the top 6 is just fine, the problem is they have all the freaking pressure, because our bottom 2 lines could do absolutely jack ****.
