Rangers and Zuccarello is close to an extention of two or three years, according to his agent, will probably sit down on Thursday. Didn't mention anything about salaries.

Could've posted a translated link if it wasn't for this broken phone.

What site?

EDIT - Found it.

****** translation but....

The Norwegian point the king has been difficult to get a regular place in the Rangers and periodically shipped to both the AHL and KHL.
But now it seems the club to be ready to go for him.
According to the New York Daily News thinks extend the contract with Zuccarello, Swede Carl Hagelin, Derek Stepan star and defenseman Ryan McDonagh.
- That's what Glen Sather (general manager) has said. Only details remain before it becomes clear and I think it will resolve itself. Mats will have a envägskontrakt extending over two or three years, says agent Erik Ryman to Verdens Gang .

All young with NHL experience, top 6 potential and with significant upside since they are not even close to done developing. Do you say things just to get a rise out of people. Which one of these players has peaked?

With Hrivik, Lindberg, Fast, and Thomas knocking on the door, there is skill and speed in the pipeline. We don't know exactly how good any of them will be but there is definitely "upside" in this group.

Not high end upside in my watch. Only Stepan really has the makings of a 1st line player in that list of players IMO. The others should be nice 2nd line tweeners or 3rd line players.

A 2 year deal takes Zuccarello to group III. $925,000 is the AHL thresold. Anything above that would count against the cap if Zuccarello clears waivers to play in the AHL. The Rangers will want to keep the cap hit close to $925,000.

Hagelin - Stepan - Nash
Clowe - Vinny L - Callahan
Kreider - Brassard - MZA
Boyle - Lindberg - Dorsett

CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter)
(these totals are compiled with the bonus cushion)
SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $64,083,333; BONUSES: $837,500
CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $1,054,167

I actually agree with almost all of this if it were possible. I don't see anyone getting Vinny for 4 mil though. Even if he is a buyout candidate, he's not taking a nearly 50 percent pay cut when he isn't even playing poorly. To be able to offer him closer to what he may end up going for if he is bought out, just keep MDZ over Buff and it gives you a bit more cap space (this is the only thing I'd do differently to begin with anyway - I'm pretty meh on Byfuglien).

Lets say Clowe is back for less than what he wants and Richards is kept.

Nash, Stepan, Callhan
Clowe, Richards, Kreider
Hagelin, Brassard, Zuccarello
Powe/Asham/HaleyPyatt( some go), Boyle, Dorsett

I imagine Richards gets bought out but if so they need another C. If they dont resign Clowe insert another UFA. They should have enough dough to get 2 UFA's if they want

Do they deduct the salary from all the games Torres will be suspended from the overall cap hit?

1,000,000th time that joke has been used.

Torres signed for 246 games, how many will he NOT be suspended for?

I want this guy on July 5.. Rangers coach knows him well.

Lapierre is a character....

Talking about versatility for the players we've mentioned as 3rd line signings. Not a single one of them took a regular shift on the PK. Raymond and R. Jones look like they were 3rd or 4th string PKers, with around 1 min to 1:30 in PK time per game. If we can trade for Stempniak, he's a guy who was one of the Flames main PK guys.

Boyes, Ryder, Brunner, Filppula, Stalberg, and Raymond all were regular powerplay guys.

If we want PK help, we're going to have to target 4th liners. Boyd Gordon. Eric Nystrom. Matt Hendricks.
