Is this team possible?

Hagelin-Stepan-Nash
Kreider-Lecavlier-Callahan
Clowe-Brassard-MZA
Raymond-Lapierre-Dorsett

McDonagh-Girardi
Staal-MDZ
Moore-Stralman

I like this team

Assuming Clowe and VL sign decent contracts, I'd be ok with this. Although, the biggest question is if MDZ can transition well to the right side.

Lecavlier changes everything for me. He would be a big upgrade. With him in the top 6 I'm willing to have both Kreider and Hagelin in the top 6. If someone can help me does either Lapierre or Raymond kill penalties? If they do then I am confident in that team.

I like it, would rather have Boyle as a 4c over Lapierre though!

I believe Lapierre can. We could then move Boyle, Pyatt, and Powe for picks or something.

Chcago looking for cap space and may move Bolland

how about Bolland for Boyle? saves them a few million

Would give Stepan, Brassard, Bolland and maybe UFA Lapierre? Lindberg in CT

That would be an interesting idea. Not sure Chicago would take it. Bolland is also paid much more and only had 14 points in 35 games this season.

Financially? Yes.

I don't think signing Leacavalier is remotely realistic unless a) he takes a discount and b) plays LW here. In other words, not realistic.

AV has said he wants two scoring lines, a shutdown line, and an energy/checking line. That isn't going to happen when three of the teams centers are Stepan, Lecavalier, and Brassard, unless Stepan is the "shutdown center", and that would be moronic.

Vitto's idea of Bolland is intriguing if he can get back to form of ~35 points while staying healthy. Health is the big issue.

He would be a good shut-down line center, leaving Boyle as the energy line center.

i guess if you bought out BR and brought in vinny L you could make it happen...

Kreider - Stepan - Nash
Levalier - Brassard - Clowe
Hagelin - Lindberg - Callahan
Powe/Asham/Dorsett/Fasth - Boyle - Dorsett/Fasth/Powe/Asham

He has one more year left, no? Depending on the price, well worth the gamble. Removes the pressure of Lindberg having to step into NHL right away. I have always liked his game.

The question becomes, what would you be willing to give up?

Kreider-Stepan-Nash
Zuccarello-Brassard-Callahan/Briere/Trade
Hagelin-Bolland-Dorsett/Callahan
Pyatt-Boyle-xxx/Miller/FastDorsett

Would ideally have Callahan with Bolland and Hagelin as the shutdown line, hopefully we can sign Briere or make a trade for a top-6 RW.

the only way we wind up with lecavelier is if we keep Richards (which we will) and if lecavelier wants a 1 year deal to carry him through next offseason so he can re-sign with tampa. lecavelier and Richards are best friends. no way he signs here if be buy out his buddy.

Two of those players are RFAs. Malkin gave Pittsburgh a hometown discount because he wants to be there, and what? It's an 8 years deal.

Only the Elite will get those long term deals imo. That's why people who think slats will sign steps or McD for 8 yrs are out of their mind

I'm assuming Richards will be here so all this talk is pointless. They know the risks and they haven't bought him out yet, that to me says they are gonna end up keeping him.

Trade Staal to NSH for 4th overall pick and Jonathan Blum

Kreider Barkov Nash
Hagelin Stepan Callahan
Clowe Brassard Miller
McLeod Boyle Dorsett
Asham

McDonagh Girardi
DelZotto Stralman
Moore Blum
Eminger

SO crazy I know. Barkov is said to be the most NHL ready. This would leave about 8mil in cap space. CRAZY.

If they plan to keep him, then why not tell him instead of leaving him dangling in the wind?

Sather is waiting to see who is going to hit the free agent market. Then he will make a decision, most likely. But what do I know?
