Sure, why not? That's not really what I was trying to say, but whatever. I don't see a downside to waiting, other than his value certainly could go down. Not in a big hurry to trade him either way, just think if you can get a good top six forward in return you pull the trigger.

I think everyone is in agreement that he would/should be moved for a top 6 winger. If for no other reason than he's 4th (3rd maybe?) on the depth chart for LHD behind Mcdonagh and Staal surely and probably even Moore right now.

I think Moore would be a more effective D with an extra 10-15 pounds.

with Avs resigning Bordeleau, does this make Cody McLeod expendable

Rangers trade Ryan Bourque and Taylor Pyatt to Avs for McLeod and 5th?? Rangers get a winger/ center with more size and toughness. that can match up with the Thortons, Engellend, Simmonds of the east

I LOVE McLeods game. Great fighter, no slouch at hockey

Sather should target guys like this, young guys that can play and fight... he is only 28.. with Bords getting resigned maybe he becomes expendable... Downie should be back next year, who didnt play much for an injury..

maybe a McLeod for Bourque Pyatt type deal can happen.. his dad played for the Avs so maybe they might want to take a chance with his son...

Wow. Really? Stepan was incredible this season, Brassard has shown that a change of scenery is doing so much for his play and Burmistrov is only 21 and has a lot of upside still

Yeah Burm would be nice, but I expect that to be a no go due to overpayment or whatever,

Stepan has shown great improvement. Loving it.

Brass is showing he can wheel and deal with a team that competes. He keeps it up and it helps us out astronomically

I would trade Girardi before Del Zotto. Girardi will be a UFA after next season. He has played a ton of tough minutes. Girardi has also taken a ton of blocked shots. As Girardi gets older he will probably breakdown...

I love Girardi. I think he's been great. I think he took a ton of garbage from posters last year and often times it was nitpicking stuff. I'm not in the Girardi sucks camp at all.

Makes no sense. This team is weak at RD so let's trade our best one.

If the Rangers want to become tougher to lay against and look to have a deal in place with Winnepeg, they should try to pry Chris Thorburn as a 4th line RWer.

Nystrom is not on that level but he is feisty and will drop the gloves with most middleweights.

Sucks Bordeleau was re-signed.

They need to find a way to add some strength, size and intimidation throughout their lineup. Clowe and Nystrom would be a good start.

Kreider-Stepan-Nash
Clowe-Brassard-Callahan
Hagelin-______-_______
Nystrom-Boyle-Dorsett

If Hagelin can play RW, which I think he can, I would look at Raymond as his opposite on the LW. Put Miller or Lindberg at center with them.

Kreider-Stepan-Nash
Clowe-Brassard-Callahan
Raymond-Lindberg-Hagelin
Nystrom-Boyle-Dorsett

Use Miller, Fast, Thomas, Haley and Hrivik as injury replacements.

In this scenario, no dman is moved.

The more I think about it, the more I feel like MDZ isn't going anywhere. We'll probably end up with Moore playing the right side with McD or Staal next season and MDZ and Stralman as the third pairing.

MDZ is a good, young player, and will likely turn out to be more consistent and smarter with the puck as he continues to develop, which he is still doing. I would have absolutely no issue with trading him for forward help, and I kinda hope he is. I'd feel better going into the season with a stronger forward core even if it slightly weakens us on the back end. I don't want to see whatever coach we get have scoring problems still.

Sign clarkson let clowe go. Then play Haley with Dorset and hope for the undertaker to develope in a nasty number 3/4 defenseman and if not try and deal for John Ernestine from the caps till he is ready .. Then let Boston try to push that line up around

Haley, Dorsett, Clarkson, Callahan, Nash, Fast, Miller. All RWers. Plus Asham.

Clowe is a LW. That's why he makes so much more sense. Same with Nystrom. They are weak on the LW.

Clarkson will not come cheap. Since the UFAs suck he'll command 5 mil imo

I understand the need to get tougher, I really do.

But I think it's a waste of time trying to out tough Boston. They have the market cornered on that, they're the toughest team in the NHL. We'd be wasting assets and potential to out tough them. Our best possible line up is going to be a blend of skill and toughness. Tougher than Pittsburgh but more 'finesse' than Boston.

That being said, I'm not advocating not getting tougher. I'm advocating not making it a goal to be tougher than Boston.

Clarkson probably gets 5/25. No thanks.

Pittspurgh is an offensive powerhouse. Boston is tough. Toronto is quick. What is our identity? It used to be shot blocking, now, I'm not even sure..... We need to find our game.

I would agree. But they don't need to be. Just tougher than they were this season.

The difference is Pittsburgh and Boston have their top players who get involved with the physical side of the game. Neal, Kunitz, even Mlkin and Sid are not soft players. Marchand, Horton, Lucic.

That isn't even taking into account their lower lines. The Rangers need to get back to that. It needs to be team wide and it needs to start with the players feeling comfortable that someone has their back. It doesn't have to be a heavyweight, but they need more than Asham and Dorsett.

They need to add goals, but they need to add grit, feistiness and physicality as that stuff leads to mistakes and goals.

I don't know our identity, we lost it from the Nash trade and we started to establish a new one with the Gaborik trade. Our new coach is going to have a huge hand in establishing a new identity.

Our best roster, imo, will be a balance of skill/speed/toughness. We should strive for balance.

Style wise, I think this roster should still 'grind' but with a major emphasis on a better breakout. A lot of our players are/can be good on the rush, it should be a major part of our game. But we also need to grind it out when the opponent is able to shut the transition game down.

I don't want a 4th line of mercenaries. If they don't score they better PK.
