Let's run a line of Calvert - Bouchard - Atkinson. Maybe we can trade for Gerbe too.

Yeesh.

My top Flyer I wanted (besides Giroux/Voracek/Couturier) was Talbot who broke his leg yesterday. Unlikely Schenn gets moved because he's on a team with his brother. Read is another mighty mite I would prefer to avoid. Leaves Wayne Simmonds I guess.
.

Moving to East with a 4th line of:
Simmonds-MacKenzie-Boll
NICE

I think too many posters here are overly sentimental. We should try to move Vinny while we can. And it seems JD doesn't acknowledge or buy into the supposed "gentlemens agreement".

Something to consider.
1. If you're competing with the CBJ for a playoff spot this year, why would you trade with us? (Detroit, San Jose, St Louis, Dallas, Edmonton, Phoenix)
2. If you could meet Columbus in the playoffs, why would you trade with us? (Chicago, Anaheim, Minnesota, Vancouver, LA)
3. If you're going to be in the same division with the CBJ next year, why would you trade with us? (NYR. NYI, Philly, Pittsburgh, Carolina, New Jersey, Washington)

That narrows the field quite a bit.

Leaving you with:
Colorado, Calgary, Florida, Tampa Bay, Buffalo, Toronto, Winnipeg, Montreal, Ottawa and Boston.

I doubt Anaheim or Chicago are that concerned about us. Pittsburgh may similarly feel we aren't that great of a threat and they also seem to be going all in now and worrying less about the future.

Interestingly, some of the future division teams were scouting us yesterday. I don't think it was advance scouting for next season and scouting resources are scarce and important this time of year. So, I guess I'm saying anything could happen though in the end I think the deal has to be perfect for it to be anyone other than your "can trade" list.

When I see that Ryane Clowe (0 goals in 28 games) is apparently worth a 1st + a decent prospect, Kekalainen's comments make me kinda nervous...

David Perron, with 3 yrs left at $3.8M AAV, gets my vote as most likely to be dealt now in STL.

What do people think?

We need to be a seller with what players are being traded for. If not, we need to just not make any trades.

Perron would be quite nice. Didn't think he would be available. Is his injury history pretty much passed?

Also, I'm gonna start banging the "Dubinsky + NYR 1st + Erixon for Nash" drum. I'm hilarious, I know no need to tell me.

Doesn't seem balanced. Think we need to add Anisimov.

Huh? You might be the only person on HFBoards who likes what Calgary got in return for JBo.

Wrong thread, I guess, but I'll reply anyway. Is it great? No, but they still got a 1st and that is what they need. They need as many 1st and 2nd round picks as they can get.

Everyone's getting great value for selling their pieces off, and Calgary's getting damn near nothing for the two biggest moves being made so far.

I think it shows teams might be willing to overpay with 2nds, but not 1sts and top prospects.
