Your off on A LOT of guys or just pessimistic. Clowe is not scoring 10 next year. He'll get 17-25 which is his career norm. Bernier will get at least 10. Brunner will get 25-30, which he was on pace for in an 82 game season this year. Henrique will get around 25. I think he will bounce back very well. Carter could easily get 10. If Zubrus can stay healthy like he did in 2011, he'll get 15-25.

Clowe, sure. He'll score more than 10 if he stays healthy.

Bernier has 9 goals in his Devils career. 8 of them came last year when his shooting% doubled from his prior 2 seasons. 10 goals would be optimistic.

Ryan Carter has 24 goals in his entire career. Hell, this past lockout season was the first time in his career he even put up 10 points. 10 goals is reaching, especially in a 4th line role.

Brunner has 12 goals in 44 career games. Expecting him to put up 25-30 based on that sample size is straight up stupid.

I hope Henrique can hit 25, but the guy has 27 goals in his year and a half career. 25 goals is possible, but I wouldn't label it an expectation. I'd label it a very successful season.

Zubrus has been a Devil for 6 years and has hit 15 goals twice (15 in '09, 17 in '12.) Again, I wouldn't label 15 as an expectation more than I would a very successful season. 10 is realistic, 15 would be great, 25 is just ridiculous.

Aside from Clowe, the goal totals he projected are very realistic.

Well then were going to be in some trouble because Cory and Marty can only do so much until the damn breaks. I still think there going to find a way to make the playoffs but there going to need guys to overachieve. Hell, they might NEED Tedenby to finally show a pulse and live up to some of his potential and put up 10-20.

The Kings won the Cup with the 29th ranked offense. Our defense has held opponents to some of the fewest shot totals each of the last few seasons, and Schneider is going to improve the goaltending. We'll be fine.

Either that or Cleverbot is really LOU. :sarcasm:

I decided to check your logic:

User: Should the Devils trade 9th Overall for Schneider.

Cleverbot: I think that was a little more than 50 years ago.

I um...... WUT

All part of Lou's master plan. The birth, the hockey , the Boston College , the Canucks , The Luongo , and the Goalie Controversy

So I click on this thread and for some reason get directed to the Sens board... (which I didn't know until after the fact) I'm reading about the fans pushing for new uniforms, how we share the same jersey cut as the pens and my mind almost exploded.

It's a gamble. Someone compared his situation to Bobby Butler. A little extreme, but Butler put up similar numbers in similar games played his first year. Would you want Bobby Butler signed for 4 years at 3 mil per?

I don't think Brunner is the next Butler, but it's a terrifying comparison.

If anything I put my estimates on the conservative side. Honestly, I think its possible Brunner could get 20-25 under the right circumstances but if Brunner was a straight lock for 25-30 goals he would not be UFA atm. Expecting up to 40 or 50 goals from Zubrus and Clowe is very optimistic. Probably more like 25-30. Worst case scenario 20ish.

At the end of the season, some guys will surpass expectations and some will fall below so it evens out somewhat.

Where, out of curiosity? I've made two posts in the last 24 hours about Brunner vs. Butler and both times explicitly stated I don't believe that's where we're headed.

I just think giving a 4 year contract for a guy with 44 games played is risky. Especially when a team like Detroit is the one letting him go.

Brunner has gotten alot of love from the Detroit fans. He plays with alot of heart. Great speed, great shot , dirty hands but struggles defensively. Doesnt lack effort, but isnt the best defensively.

Detroit already said he isnt coming back due to cap issues

Lets see...1) he works for a football site, 2) he has less than 300 followers...3) he is local

This is an oppurtunity for a guy to make people think he has sources. Obviously there is a reliable report out of Switzerland that Brunner will end up here. This guy is putting out "UFA likely $$ and terms" and is hoping to get lucky.

3 million TOTAL for 4 years?

Dude....I would take that YESTERDAY! :yo:

And who is Mason Raymond again? Is he another Forward that can score? (Sorry I'm too lazy to do research)

Especially seeing their were reports saying Brunner wanted 4 years between 3-3.5 mil.

Soo he put 2 and 2 together and is trying to gain credibility

well you stated "Would you want Bobby Butler signed for 4 years at 3 mil per?". Well, no I wouldnt, but then were not signing Butler are we. Butler is proven useless. If Butler had 8 seasons of tearing up the the AHL then had a pretty decent half-NHL season, i might be inclined to take a gamble on him. which is basically where Brunner is.

According to Detroit fans, the Red Wings aren't letting Brunner go simply because they don't want him and don't think he's a good enough player. But rather, they don't have enough room right now and they have other, younger, players that are ready to move into the role Brunner had last season. Brunner isn't an elite player, one that the Red Wings would look to move other pieces around just to fit in his contract because 2.3m isn't going to get Brunner. If they had cap space and roster space open to sign him then I'd be hesitant about us getting him but since neither are the case then I'm much less worried.
