The word panic looks an awful lot like picnic...and I find that funny.

Fantastic post from the Mainboard

I am still looking at a team and system that that gave up 22 shots/gm instead of the league average of 29

NJD goalies last year
Broduer .901
Hedberg .883

Broduer last 3 years .905
Schnieder Last 3 years .931

when you acquired a schnieder NJD went from 2.08GA team with broduer starting to a 1.52GA team with schnieder.
Best in the league by a mile.

thought just hand them the Cup.

With Kovalchuck and clarkson gone. Now they are only guarnateed a final 4.

Kovalchuk 48G 114GM last 2 years
Clarkson 45G 128GM Last two years:
Ryder 51G 128GM last two years.
Clowe 2nd line role 20G 88GM
3rd/4th line 0G 28GM

Lou has money to target 2 posession forwards.
But Kovalchucks .85 PPG in playoffs is not replaceable.

I know 22 teams that would love that goalie defence combo.

Look how many goals we save with Schneider

Sooo last year Schneider (If his Save % stayed the same) would of had a 1.52 GAA . Thats 73 goals allowed in a 48 game season.

Our GAA last year was 2.54 . THats 1 less goal per game. Saving us around 45 goals in a season (Assuming Schneider played every game) Obviously he would of played like 30-35 . Thats 30-35 less goals allowed last year. Given how many time we lost by one goal, we would of made the playoffs last year

predicting scheiders stats over here is like how we were expecting kovy to always score 40 goals here. le sigh.

you also need to factor in that Schneids save percentage from the last 3 years doesnt factor in NJs miniscule shots allowed.

If I'm not mistaken, one less goal is the difference in a lot of the games we lost when Kovy was out.

At least, I don't think we'll be a lottery team.

I just assumed that he would have the same Save % that he had last year . Which there is no reason to believe it wouldnt

just saying theres a possibility that by taking much fewer shots on net, his sv% gets even better 0_0
