Once again, so what? You trade a guy because he's not quite at the level of a very small handful of forwards in the NHL? As if you could trade Pasta and bring back a better forward than him. Cause the MacKinnons/Kucherov's/etc. are available all over the league.
I mean, if you could trade Pasta for a forward of that caliber, I'd be open to it, but it's too unrealistic and foolish to talk about. He's still an elite forward in this league.
I'd make the same statement about McAvoy. I'd love to flip him for a better D-man. But which one of Makar/Hughes/Fox/Heiskanen/etc. are you bringing back?
So if your not upgrading from those two players, you suggest trading them for 3 ponies instead? When has that strategy ever worked for the Bruins?
