I was thrilled when Sal got the C, but then was like......i hope this doesn't blow up on us. I'm wondering if Pete should start insulting these guys like Torts, no one wears letters for the remainder of season. I'm the captain of this ship!:rant::rant::rant:

Let me ask you all this:

Seems like half the team may have the flu. The other half is just exhausted and dead. Do you skate them on their off day or try to get them as much recoup time as possible? I would have skated them today and given them off tomorrow. Maybe it's the other way around.

A full hour of practice in a 24 hour day is peanuts. I would've practiced the team today and tomorrow after their poor performance against Tampa, Florida and the Isles.

When Gionta and Sal left the other game I swore it was the flu - I wonder if it's going around. Would explain the terrible efforts and no energy.

Well no Jagr for us. Unfortunately the team we're playing Thursday night that usually kicks our ass has him now!

I can't fault the teams effort during these struggling times for the most part. However last night I do. This team comes out very flat against the Islanders for whatever reason. I've seen games over the years at the Coliseum where the Devils came in and failed to show up for anywhere near 60 minutes. Then we had a couple games against them last year like the Anders Nilsson shutout, and then the almost Anders Nilsson shutout a week later.

Ahh it was you who said that. I thought of that post when they said Travis had it and wondered if it has been going around. Last thing we need right now is the damn flu.

We're still in the driver's seat in terms of making the playoffs, so that's good I guess. Team needs to be better, but we still have a game lead. Not panicking, but the concern is definitely there.

And I know the Devils shouldn't shoot for this, nor should we hope for this, but the 8th seed this year may be a better spot for us depending on who wins the Northeast. I know we can play with Pittsburgh and Montreal. I don't think we can play with Boston.

@TGfireandice: DeBoer said Kovalchuk has begun rehabbing his shoulder and he will be back this season but "not in the near future."

And now the truth's starting to come out slowly. Just like the 4-6 week timetable for Zubrus became 7 and he was rushed back at 7.

I don't expect to see Kovy 'at all' before the playoffs at this point. If there are even playoffs.

Pedialyte and Zinc for the locker room.

Must of spread around the team when they went to Mons Venus in Tampa.

We could be in 9th by Thursday. Maybe

Assuming we drop that game then I think we will be 9th by Saturday. Will we pick up a win this weekend? If we don't get a win of any sort I think that sinking ship will no longer be afloat any more.

I feel confident in saying that Loktionov should have a higher than average shooting percentage. I can see him settling as a 14-15% guy. His patience and hockey sense will improve the quality of his shots.

But yes, 28% won't last.

This post is the perfect combination between eyetest and a good use of advanced stats.

In short, I couldn't agree more. Hopefully we're right.

I would have little confidence if they had a series with Florida.

At least Lou is sane. Has not asked Elias for a list of teams so no trade for him it seems. Same for Zids, which I am more iffy about but still ok with. Still want Tally moved.

I meant to comment in the PGT but I can't believe Larsson was scratched over Tallinder last night. Tallinder played like absolute ****.
