If you aren't doing anything, you aren't making mistakes in life. Sounds like you don't make mistakes. Sometimes the best calculations never add up when the human element enters the equation.

LOL, I didn't say he was infalliable. But you have hindsight and would of could of on your side. Perfect MMQB. We get it, you want to pretend as if you are enlightened. But greasing the skids on the ELias may bolt and a future top five pick are tall leaps.

I make mistakes everyday and when I do, people remind me of the errors I did, so I don't see why Lou shouldn't get the same treatment. You do good... you'll know about it and when you screw the pooch... you'll know about it as well.

That's just how I operate. I'm not a ass licker and never will be. Sorry if I'm ruffling a couple of featers along the way but that's just life.

What's so outrageous about saying that we'll forfeit a top #5 pick if we lose Elias and can't replace him with a legit top #6 forward? Have you seen our current team and the lack of talent we have on our current top #6? Are you telling me that we'd be a better team whitout Elias?

We currently hold a top #10 pick as we speak and have the 3rd fewest wins ratio in regulation, wich is a complete joke. With all that said, if we lose Patty, we're in a world of trouble IMO.

It's so easy to reflect back on these moves now but Lou's not a robot. He's not mistake proof.

Agents get a cut of the deal they make, if Elias at 35 plus gets 7 for the next four years, he should run not walk to another team. So, if Lou fails to sign Elias at any condition he has failed?

All I said was I don't see why he can't sign him during the season? Or TRY to sign him during the season? Patty is saying he hasn't been approached about an extension yet. I doubt he's gonna lie publicly like that, but worse things have happened I guess. You're just gonna keep saying Lou can do no wrong, so there's no point in arguing with you.

Everyone here has an opinion but it's constant harping on the same points and or creating new talking points way before they happen. It's not about the featers you ruffle, you just come off as an entitled whiner with alot of points you make over and over.

I never said Lou doesn't do wrong, don't put words in my mouth.

Lou says when you have time you use it. If Lou has that policy, maybe it's from above. Unless you and others know something we should about how the Devils really operate. There is plenty of time to sign him.

Elias is 37 in three days and lord knows how popular the Rolston and Salvador signings were his bashers and the guys that aren't "Ass Lickers" like DATW said because some how we are all.

How much of a distraction would it have been for Patty and his agent (Walsh ugh) to sit down with Lou the last two days while there was a break in the schedule, and hammer out a new deal?

It might have caused a disturbance during Patty's shootout try in practice! Give me a break.

If it could have gotten done that fast, Lou should have had Patty in his office a half hour after announcing the Zajac extension lol. He still had a couple days left.

The league doesn't end today, but if you're paying attention at how we've been playing over the past month+, you'd see that our chances at making the playoffs are real slim if not done.

I know that you want your team to win every single game, despite winning 7 times out of the last 27 games, and that you'll root for them no matter what, but I like to look at the big picture and if I take into account that they've been nosediving for over half of the season, then I don't expect a miracle to suddenly appear out of left field in the last remaining games. If they do manage to pull a 180 and surprise everyone, then that's fine as well... but it just isn't realistic IMO.

In regards to Elias, I hope we do everything in our power to keep him around cause I really feel that if he does leave, we'll be in a world of hurt cause the market is a joke and we don't have the assets to make a move that will compensate for his loss AND add the missing pieces we've talked about this entire year.

Despite being a couple of pts away from that #8 seed, we have the 3rd lowest amount of wins in regulation and we're tied for 4th worst in terms of overall wins. If we can make the playoffs with that poor of a record, then yes... it would be a miracle and Lou would look like Jesus Christ.

Reid Boucher baby! Another Lou failure.

A perfect exemple of why this place is sooooooooo funny at times. The kid puts up great #'s in junior and is having a solid start at the AHL level and all of a sudden, 1/2 of this board has him penciled in our starting lineup next year as our top line LW'er.

I also remember posters penciling D'Agostini as our new top #6 forward as well but last time I checked, he's been a bottom line forward and a healthy scratch.
