I am in positive realism mode. Basically scoreboard watching to me is pointless right now if the team can't remember how to win. We roll two or three games off this week, then ya I will start watching again.

I said in the other thread. Forget points, or anything. We need to win tomorrow without Kovy so this team can maybe start believing they can win again. Statement win against Boston knowing you soon will regain Kovy. That could start a winning streak, but they have to finally do it.

I like scoreboard watching. Mostly because its more fun to watch a game actively rooting for/against a team than just watching as a neutral fan.

EDIT: Anyways, I'm out for the next few hours. I've updated the Magic number thread with tonight's relevant games and scenarios (MTL can clinch the ROW tiebreaker with a win) and will jump back on later to do the same after tonight's games.

Go Flyers! (ugh)

Devils page question

Hi gang, since I didn't get any answers on the main boards I figured I'd ask here. I'm trying to find the web address or site of an old Devils fan page I suppose where during the time period circa 2000-01, 2001-02, 2002-03, 03-04 etc a guy would go to practically every game in each season season (some other galleries might have been on them too) and would post tons of pictures from each game of individual players and game action. I figured if any of you guys remembered the page, I could look it up on internet wayback machine and see if I got anywhere. I know it's not Devilsrule as I still visit that site somewhat.

Anyway, just figured I'd take a shot in the dark and see if anyone knew what I am referring too.

Only know who you are because, if I'm not wrong, you have consistently posted about giving up your season tickets because you no longer want to financially support the team in the direction you think its heading. That is something I strongly disagree with.

Sorry if it's not you, it very well might not be, but regardless that's something I'm not okay with. We're fans, not people who only show up when things are going good.

Again, as long as you want to see this team succeed, you're a fan. There are no such thing as better or worse fans. But you need to want this team to succeed to qualify. I'm sure you do, and that this past season of struggles have made it tough for you to justify spending the money (and that would be a perfectly acceptable reason to not spend the money again next year) but if someone is completely giving up on the team because of two months of struggling.. well.. I question their motives in the first place.

You have some half truths there.
I'll clarify.

I have had full season tickets for many years.
I love the team, franchise and the gameday experience, wish I could keep going with seasons.

Have had many valid non-hockey reasons not to renew the last few years, but against better judgement I renewed because it pained me to give up my seats.

I knew going into the season that it would be unwise for me to renew again for 2013-2014.
Yes, I am not thrilled with quite a few hockey-related things this season, not just the wins/losses.
That pretty much validated sound,common-sense for me to join the ranks of the single game buyer club for next season.

Any other questions, please contact my admin assistant.;)

Many will disagree with me, but I'd sooner welcome Joe Whitney on this team than the version 4.0 of Tedenby. MUCH sooner welcome Whitney before Tedenby. If we're trying to bring in new blood.

If you go to a teams website and click multimedia, you can find a photo gallary from every game. They won't let you copy them, but you can just print screen and paste/save in Paint.

Yeah and Whitney has hockey IQ, went to a few albany games during the lockout...his vision was unreal and he's defensively sound

Better to give him a chance than this insanity of trying the same thing over and over again (Tedenby every year) and expecting a different result. Even if it's in part due to the coach having a very short fuse for him.

Worse thing that can happen is Whitney shows he's not for the NHL and just for the AHL. I don't expect him to produce at his AHL clip, but he can be a solid player.

There has got to be something up with him because we don't own his NHL rights just his AHL...he could sign a NHL contract and move on... but NO ONE has signed him and I cant figure out why.

That's fine by me, as I said, it was probably frustration on your part and frustration on my part that led to your reasoning not being as well explained as above and my interpretation of your reasoning not being as it is above.

Just don't get fans who would go "The team sucks, I'm not going to games anymore." I understand not going out of your way to go to games if they are doing terribly.. or not sacrificing something of substance that you would otherwise.

We'll see if we waste our time continuing the insanity of trying to give Tedenbust an NHL spot again next year. I don't think we will, but part of my thinks it's a real possibility. We could be giving someone new a chance in that spot. I'm pretty sure Whitney has outproduced Tedenby in the AHL too. Not trying to beat up on the little guy for no reason, but he's really the only one that's been given a chance over Whitney anyway.

Theoretically, can we trade Whitney? Since he's not signed to an NHL contract, do we have any connection to him besides the fact that he plays for our affiliate? I'm not sure how that works, 99% of minor league players are signed to two-way deals.

Maybe Whitney just doesn't want to play in the NHL, for whatever reason?

I doubt he doesn't wanna play in the NHL. TG had an interview with him during the Summer rookie camp last year where he said he was hoping for a chance to get to the NHL. He was Albany's leading scorer last year, and pretty sure he is now.

he'll get his 2-way this summer. Either from us or someone else. Hopefully us because I can see him getting a cup of coffee next year.

So what is everyone's prediction on Kovy's return since he did practice a bit today. Obviously Pete said he is still days away.

Obviously not playing tomorrow or Friday. Trying to read through the lines I'd guess they would not make him make the trip to Toronto, so I can see next Thursday against the Flyers being a possible return date.

Why not Saturday? Didn't see any quotes that would suggest he's automatically out then..

Friday or Monday. Definitely Monday if not. We do have a game Monday right? Whatever game comes after the Senators.

I gurantee he won't play Saturday. No game scheduled that day.

Shouldn't have trusted that poster.

Why not Friday? I could see him playing given how big that game means and the quotes today. Kovy needs a few more days to get to 100% but Deboer won't necessarily wait until 100%..

Meant Friday, but I REALLY doubt he will play against the Sens. If he isn't even taking slappers so he isn't sure his shoulder is ready. It sounds like another week to me.

Edit: We do have a game Monday Bleed against the Leafs in Toronto. His playing all comes down to whether he makes that trip or not.
