I think I've missed 3 home games so far and no, there has not been 500-1000 empties for each sellout. Absolutely wrong...

At the end of the day who gives a ****. Until we start hanging sellout banners it's irrelevant. Winning is all that maters..

Why the hell would you root for the Islanders? WHo gives a **** who's behind us? We're not playing for 9th place, we're playing for 8th. In order to move up, we need the teams ahead of us to lose. Even if Philly passes us at some point, WE STILL NEED TO PASS THE ISLES

The Devils should be concentrating on passing the Rangers (still play them twice 2 pts behind) and Ottawa (play them once, 4 pts behind)

If the Flyers win tonight and the Devils lose tomorrow, the Flyers will be ONE POINT behind us with a game in hand! I don't know how everyone doesn't see this. They could potentially pass us by the end of the week. The Devils have more control over their fights with the Rangers and Sens.

I've been to I think 8 games this year and the building looked as full as possible every time I've gone.

I liked it better when we had no fans. Was a lot easier to find a cheap ticket last minute.

Again, who ****ing cares?

If the Flyers pass us, we still need to jump someone else. We would still need the Isles or Rangers or Sens to lose. And we have a game with the Flyers anyway.

I'd rather be in 15th place, 2 points out of the playoffs than in 9th place, 4 points out of the playoffs.

some of us see it - but in the end who we cheer for doesn't matter, the Devils just have to start winning games in regulation and hope someone goes on a cold streak HARD (*cough Rangers cough*)

If the Flyers win tonight and the Devils lose tomorrow

If the Devils don't start winning a bunch of games then it doesn't matter what happens in the other games.

So since I'm assuming the Devils have to start winning or it doesn't matter, then I want the teams ahead of the Devils to lose so the Devils can move past them. The Devils winning will keep the teams behind them, behind them.

Because it is irrelevant.

We have to win to make the playoffs and making us win less is what helps us. Islanders losing keeps the bar from moving.

We just need to keep to a minimum the amount of teams we have to jump over.

No...you need to pass the teams in front of you that you can reach. if the flyers were playing Toronto you'd be right but not the isles and rangers

So you'd rather put yourself further out of the playoffs?

No... holy cow... having the Flyers potentially jump over us puts us further out of the playoffs... because then there's ANOTHER team that the Devils have to do better than over the stretch run to get in the playoffs.

The only way the flyers pass us is if we don't win games. If we don't win games then it doesn't matter anyway.

If we do win games, then you want to be as close to the playoffs as possible.

Funny how we've spent several pages arguing about who to root for. :fight:

If NJ doesn't start winning some of their own games, the OOT scoreboard won't matter anyway.

I was all for giving Salvador the captaincy at the start of the season but personally that can't be clearer who should it be now.

I really don't understand how you're not getting this as 4 different posters have explained it in different ways, so I'm just gonna stop trying.

Enjoy cheering for the Devils to fall 4 points out instead of 2. Godspeed.

No one knows what goes on behind closed doors. Salvador could be the best lockerroom guy of all time. It's whatever.

The team and coaches clearly respect him.

Looks like Kovy had a hard time saying the name "Zach" haha.

His daughter sounds funny.

If the Isles win, the Devils are still 2 pts back of the Rangers with two games to play against them. That's my point.

Eh I think this was a definite blunder naming him captain. I am big believer the at the C makes a big difference. It's no coincidence that once Langs was gone, that team starting doing better. Then Zach wears the C and the team has the most success since 2003. Now we have Bryce Salvador. That is a step down. I don't care how much the guys respect him. He needs to lead by example on the ice, and he doesn't have the skillset to do that consistently. Elias or Kovy should have been captain, and I am not saying that in hindsight, I have believed that from the beginning.
