He was going to leave in free agency anyways, might be best to just get something for him now. Not that they will bring something good back, but he is not a help to this team anymore in a bullpen that is very good.

Alright, so I'm a bandwagon Yankee fan that only casually follows them sometimes, so Ima ask a potentially dumb question

Was it just me or was Joba Chamberlain getting treated like the best thing since sliced bread when he was first starting out? If so, what happened?

bumped between bullpen and starter and got injured a bit and just sucks.

they ****ed him over when they switched him to BP duties.

You'd think with a **** ton of baseball players/fans in my family I'd understand what any of this means

Yankees' Alex Rodriguez planning to return and retire to collect fat salary before MLB suspension hits: sources
Once he’s back playing in rehab games, the sources say, he could then claim he is physically unable to perform because of the serious hip injury he is recovering from, 'retire' from the game, and still collect the full amount of his salary — $114 million over the next five years.

I defended ARoid for a while, but enough is enough. Fans are tired of him, management is tired of him and he seems ready to move on as well. Only thing keeping them apart is $$$$$$. What a sad way to end a prolific career.

It's become nothing but the Bronx Zoo all over again honestly.

Yankees would be smart just to cut ties with him even if they have to pay him all of his money.. This relationship needs to be over, and I've defended him for years.

God, could you guys imagine if the Yankees buy him out or whatever and he signs with another team? Imagine the reaction he gets when he returns to Yankee Stadium lol.

If I was A-Rod i'd do the same thing. Pretend to come back, retire and get my cash. He has a world series ring and the only thing keeping his hall of fame chances questionable are the roids. No reason to play anymore.

Its a shame A-Rod didn't fire back at Cashman.

That said, pretty sure Brian Cashman is losing his mind. Hes jumped out of a plane recently.. tells A-Rod to **** in public, and some other things im forgetting before the skydiving thing

There is nothing left for him to play for. He's just going to be extremely booed and ridiculed if he returns anyway

I don't get the A-Rod story- Why would he have to come back in order to retire due to injury? Couldn't he have done that already?

If he retires now he simply leaves all that money on the table. If you are on PUP list you can call it quits and still get entire pay check. Not sure if Yankees or an insurance company would fork out but A-Rod gets his pay day no matter what. Can't say I blame him for doing it. If people want to point a finger at some one it should be the guy that gave him that contract.
