Hit Cano because Trout swung first pitch, then K 2 to get out of the inning. Just kidding, but this game has a very interesting tone because of Harvey's bulldog attitude during the top of the 1st.

Yankee ownership and management are delusional. First it was Vernon Wells. Now Alfonso Soriano. The latter is a better player than the former but its not going to make them a better team. The Yankees need to wake up. They are falling further and further behind in the wildcard. The team is old and expensive. Look at the trend. The teams are younger and younger. The Yankees have no clue. Very sad. You look at the schedule coming out of the ASB. At Boston and Texas. Home for Tampa. On the road at LA.

Ownership needs tell Cashman to blow up the team. Trade Kuroda. He should bring back a top prospect and another young player. Trade Hughes and Joba for the first decent offer. Shop Robertson and Gardner. See if you can get a rich prospect package for each of the players. They aren't free agents yet. Still young and productive. When Granderson returns in August, put him on waivers with the purpose of trading him before August 31. If another team wants Ichiro, they can have him.

Hopefully Bud Selig throws the book at AROD and suspends him forever. Maybe AROD retires before the suspension. He finds a way to keep his money. The Yankees would be responsible for 20% of the remaining dollars with insurance paying the rest. AROD can show the 2 hip surgeries forced him to retire. Four more years remaining on the contract after this season.

Jeter is supposed to return from his latest foot injury this weekend. How long before he gets hurt again?

Offer Cano no more than 7 years. Big money. Just 7 years.

I totally agree, Cashman is the most overrated GM in sports

Any UFA's worth while after this season? Yankees should be well below the luxury cap if AROD gets suspended/ retires and move some players for prospects.

Mediocre free agency class. We should extend Cano and bring back Kuroda on a 1 or 2 year deal unless he wants to retire.

The only players worth chasing are Choo and McCann. I cant see McCann leaving. Ellsbury will be overpaid. Beltran is too old unless he wants to accept 1 year deal but I see him re-upping with Cardinals. Stay away from Nelson Cruz.

I was against it originally but I wouldn't be against trading Cano and getting a king's ranson for him. Agree with 7 years. I wouldn't want to see Yanks go past 7 years. Cano will probably ask for 10/200.

I am not ready to blow up the yankees just yet. Guys will come back. Who knows what will happen but I'd rather take my chances.

Robertson and Gardner are two guys I absolutely not trade. They hold too much value to this club.

I agree with trading Joba and Hughes before the deadline.

Hold onto guys like Granderson, Wells, Kuroda, and a couple others through some of august and if we are out put them through waivers.

There is still time.

What teem is really going to offer a kings ransom for a guy who is going to be a UFA and command huge money?

From a Mets fan POV, the Yankees need to get back to what them successful in the in the late 90s-early 00s. They had a good core of players (many home grown). But where they were so good was in their farm system — either reaching down for guys or hyping their prospects to the point where other teams were drooling over them — guys like Eric Milton, Juan Rivera, Gerald Williams, Russ Davis. Players who the Yankees would constantly claim weren't available, eventually went in trades that helped the Yankees and ultimately became marginal MLB players.

I definitely agree. This is a tough time as a yankees fan. We are entering a transition face whether we want to or not. Jeter and ARod are old and their bodies are breaking down. It's a shame, especially with Jeter because he was relatively healthy during his long career, so it is crazy to see/understand what is going on right now.

I don't think the team should rebuild completely. I think there are guys that can be kept to build around, even compete next year. I think Gardner, Tex, Cano, Robertson, Pineda, etc that can be built around. I think Jeter and Ichiro will be back next year. And it remains to be seen what happens with ARod. But like I said I think you can deal Granderson, Wells, Hughes, Joba, and Kuroda for something even if it is not amazing deals.

Yankees are delusional if they still think they are contending for anything.

Trade what you can.
Take the comp picks for the UFA's.
Retire Jeter and Petite next season.

reports circulating that Arod could face severe penalies, maybe even lifelong ban. they have "skylander high" evidence against Arod

Good luck with that, MLB.

What, they just gunna ignore the clear CBA rules? First offense is what. 25? 50? I don't even remember but theres no way a lifetime ban will hold up.

If you have evidence that he went for 20 "treatments" That is 20 violations of the CBA drug policy.
Compounded by the fact they know he has been doing it since he was in Texas.
Over and over again.
Suspend him or not. Does not matter. His baseball career is over.

Braun just got 65 games. Alex will get more, he's the BIG fish MLB wants.. He might cut a plea deal, but I think we'll see him suspended for the majority of 2014 if not all of it; the MLB is gonna want to make him an example and they should. It's time to clean this crap up.

Braun settled for a plea deal.

A-Rod won't settle for a lifetime ban, and the MLB won't win a battle to get him that. Never happening.
