I'm still at work, but looks like Wheeler is doing pretty good. Control is an issue, but nothing new there. If there's anything that prevents him from becoming dominant it will be that.

Pitch count is up, and like you said his control is an issue. But he's throwing gas, hitting 98 a couple of times, and like Harvey he can get hitters out with the high fastball.

Wheeler didnt even have his best stuff and he is still looked dominant. I cant wait until his next start when he is less nervous and more on his agme. I love Harvey but i think wheeler has even better stuff once he gets it all together

Depends if Wheeler can learn to control his pitches better. So far, Harvey has been almost flawless.

Wheeler could very well have better stuff than Harvey, but, Harvey carries himself in a way that makes me believe he will be the #1 guy. He's got a presence about him, both on and off the mound.

Wheeler may have better stuff but Harvey is proving to be a true "pitcher". Remember Ollie Perez? Guy had stuff coming out the ears.

I can't imagine how freaking nervous Wheeler was yesterday. Getting the start in his home town? Oof. Worst place he could have possibly had his first start. And he still killed it. I am curious to see how he does in NY.

with those 2 young strong arms and jon niese in this line up now, that rotation has potential to be very good. montero was at bingo and now hes in vegas. he looks to be a horse with solid stuff as well.

Sydergaard and degrom both have great arms.

familia has the goods to be a top closer.

everyone knows about d'Arnaud and his ability to hit and play d.

recent 1st rounder dom smith has a picture perfect lefty power stroke.

brandon nimmo still needs to show more.

the two young SS's we have are exciting. Gavin Cecchini is a stud but German Rosario may well be a true gem.

things look solid for this organization going foward.

still dont see a real stud outfielder in the system though :shakehead

Do you really think Cecchini is a stud ODC? No sarcasm here, but everything i've read about him says his value is in the fact he can probably stick at short in the majors, but not significantly above average D and with a meh bat to boot. I was really down on that pick and still am, with the caveat that i've never watched him play a single game .

i would say that hes plenty worthy of where we took him. stud might be a stretch for some but i really liked the kid when we took him. nothing but positive glowing reports about him. 6'2 180 is a solid projectable frame for a high schooler.

he has a great chance of being a major league ss with his tools. he was a "safe" play at a tough position. hes got a terrific bat. smart kid who moves well both ways and has a solid glove. hell hit .280's and have some pop. hes another guy much like the murph- contact hitter with solid gap power. if he does .280 and 10-12 per year, he will be a success.

i do think that his future may well be at 2b though. his arm is better suited for there.

the real "dice roll" is rosario.

He's certainly not a stud. But he should be a valuable player. I am curious how he plays with all the added muscle.
